    Hi,

Do the OTA update too; don't worry, it won't overwrite the new runtime... you should see it download just 56kb, rather than the 85MB it originally says.

Once you are fully up to date, the nags will go.

    Regards

    James
Retrospectively, and going back to a post I made about "spoofing" the installed OS to try and prevent the constant "nag" to update prompts, I wonder if this small 56kb update is the key to writing a small app. to achieve this, and for possible future use?

If someone with the skills in Cascades / C++ etc is able to interpret what this small update does or did with regard to updating the device and what OS / runtime et al versions it "shows", it might come in very handy at some point.

    Regards

Done, no trouble so far, been able to delete and update android apps w/o problem.

As my personal intuition, I'd suggest those who have rolled back to previous ART (and disabled OS OTA update) to first perform the OS update (that is: re-installing the "bad" ART), restart the device and then make the update via BBWorld.
That's only my feeling, nothing really proven, but I'd tend to believe it's better to be in the expected "genuine" situation (eq: with the bad ART) to avoid some unexpected errors.

    P.S: that's the path I followed.

Side note : as previously exposed, do not "open" it once installed, won't give you anything but an expected waiting screen, since the prupose of this "app" is to launch/execute an APK and not to idle on screen.

I have noticed when I first went with this (new) fix. It did nothing. But after a hard restart, and a small OS download all of my droid apps work fine. Even after I used my APK program to turn off the spying part of the app. Hope it helps.

    Woof!

FYI, I just ran the .2876 autoloader on my Passport and the runtime ended up in the BBW My apps & games, under available. All seems good for now. Will update if I have any problems.

    Hi I have a question.

After I download this and restart my phone, what happens to the previous Android apps that I "deleted" but really didn't?

They should be gone, but you can check by logging into your Amazon account or Google Play account and check your installed and available apps.

Yeah, so does mine when I select it. Don't select it. Just use your device and forget about it.

I can't help that. Make sure you're opening the link in your BB browser. Outside of that you're on your own.

Same for me. When I click on some of the links in this thread, BBW opens up but it just takes me to the initial page (like it does when you open BBW normally). It shows me the trending apps and staff picks, etc.

I have no clue how to get this revised runtime.

The link still takes me to the BB World frontpage, like it did for the last few weeks. Great job, BlackBerry.

Edit: Worked after a bunch of angry retries. Now downloads with the slowest speed I've ever seen. Oh well...it finally seems to work.

For those having problems : also try to force refresh BBWorld.
Open BBWORLD, swipe down/ gear /general / hit the button. Close BBW. Retry.
