Some android apps install on BB10 with there actual icon. But some have that generic icon with the circle, triangle, and square. Is there anyway of changing it?
And if not within BB10, can you add the app icon to the apk somehow?

Never seen that, can you give me an example of an android apk that does that?

Brookie229, I'm not sure if you're asking for an example of an android apk that does or doesn't show a custom icon, so here is an example of both. . . .
When I install this app to compare prices, a custom icon comes with it.

When I install Facebook Messenger Lite, I get a generic icon (which I get with some other apks, like a notepad app).

I also attached an image that shows a custom icon on the left, and one of the generic ones on the right.
It's not a big deal, the apk's with the same generic icon still work just fine. It would just be nice if they stood out a little, and had their own unique icon.

I've downloaded and installed Messenger Lite right from your link above to my Passport and you can see the icon at the bottom of my screen. Maybe if you deleted and tried again with a clean app install. I've really not seen this problem before and I have downloaded, installed, deleted many many android apk's both in my Z10 and Passport. I think it was probably a glitch in the install process.

It looks like it was the version of BB10 I was using. I connected my phone to my computer with BlackBerry Link for the first time and updated to the latest version I could (10.3.2.2474). After it updated, I was able to reinstall the APKs with their proper icons.
Thanks brookie229 for looking into it, it made me think I needed to seek out an update to get it working.

Glad you got it sorted out, even though it was minor. It probably bugged you, lol. There are plenty of newer OS's available (10.3.3.3216 is the newest), if you ever have other problems and want to update further.

Very true - 10.3.2.xxxx is the last stop for that version of the Z10.

You have the latest version - .2137 is the Software Release and .3216 refers to the OS version. Both the same. Go settings/About/Os under drop down menu and you will see both numbers.
