On 10.3.0.1154 - Amazon App Store keeps appearing as open in Task Manager even when I have not opened App Store for several days. I kill it in Task Manager - then after a while I check Task Manager again and App Store shows open again.

App Store does not appear as active frame, so maybe it is not actually launched but is doing something in the background.

Has anyone else seen this happen - and is there a way to stop it from happening?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

You might try to uninstall and then re-install the Amazon App Store........but then you are at the "mercy" of the leaked OS.....

My understanding is that some apps need to do some kind of authentication via the App Store when they launch: chances are you're running an Android app or port that does this and launches the App Store as a tunnel to determine if the app is paid for etc. Seems inefficient to have to do this every time, but maybe it's because Android can't really be "secured" or some apps have mature content and need to do an age verification of the account associated with the device.

Thanks RJ - what you have suggested could be except that I have not launched any of the apps that I got through App Store - and yet App Store still shows up in Task Manager

Don, yes Amazon app store keeps checking your downloaded apps for updates or something else maybe...same thing happens on my Verizon Z10 ... it runs in the background even if you force close it.
