- I don't think BB10 is hard to learn at all. However, if a platform is hard to learn, I don't think it's the fault of people; it's the job of the company to ensure people understand the product.
Technology, by its definition, exists to instantly gratify, so I don't get all the hand-wringing with regards to the impatience of society. It's what we all want.
I remember reading an article about how flummoxed people were by the original iPhone. In fact, on this very board, folks (self included) about how unintuitive it was. In any case, the article theorized that Apple's biggest win wasn't coming up with the product; it was teaching people how to use it.
I agree: in the right hands, any platform can be a powerful tool. But if BB10 is too hard for people to pick up, than BBRY needs to change the status quo. Android had to.

- "Help" does help with the basic functions...but just like BBOS, there are a lot of hidden things for us CB users to dig out.

I find more and more things with this phone that I love every day and that my friends was another new great thing! Remember is going to be super useful for my girlfriend and myself who are starting our own business together! Built in Box is also awesome!
Using this feature with my spouse/better half also probably saved the relationship. We no longer double book stuff. I asked an iOS friend of mine if they have anything like this and he did not know. I guess gmail has such a calendar, but I don't know because I don't use gmail.moyah8 likes this.11-24-13 02:49 PMLike 1 - Tre LawrenceBetween Realities
I do think successful companies don't mind spoonfeeding people if it means changing a paradigm.
Using Apple as an example, I don't believe touchscreens were intuitive to everyone. Consumers were mostly into physical keyboards. Apple figured out how to sell it.
I think gestures are mostly natural. Not everyone does. Sometimes, the most important thing isn't making a nice product, it's getting people to try it.
That's ultimately BBRY's job.11-24-13 10:02 PMLike 0 - Tre LawrenceBetween RealitiesDon't forget the awesome power of BBM Groups. If I owned a small business, I'd require all my team to carry a BlackBerry and add them to a BBM Group. Or in lieu of that, have them download BBM. The shared calendar feature that automatically updates everyone's calendar in the Group is beyond incredible. Especially for scheduling jobs, meetings etc. The shared to-do lists and group chat would probably come in handy too.

You can click on anything on the phone and share it too Remember, add a reminder and it integrates with your calendar. Nothing close on iOS. Your post is a great example of my point. It seems a lot of people don't really know all the features of 10. And again,Not surprising. You have to dig to find many of the gems.

Anywho I find iDeviced terribly bland and not so productive. Perhaps for Web browsing and the such when I am reading articles they are equivalent, however for messaging and related things I was unimpressed with iOS (and android, although I used gingerbread). Email just never seemed to work on my iPod touch... So much for push notifications. Now even if that was somehow my fault that it did not work well (proof it doesn't "just work") the way iOS presents notifications honestly sucks. Android does a little better but it's a mess. BlackBerry killed it.

I'll stop short of saying it's better than the rest considering many iPhone users and Samsung fans might jump all over my sainted pants
Posted via Crack-friggin-berry Z1011-25-13 03:18 AMLike 0 - I installed the 10.2.1.1055 leak last week and I can say definitively that it is the best OS of any smartphone ever. With the launch of the Z10, the OS was interesting but so lacking in core functionality that the IPhone had it beat. Things began to improve with the 10.0MR and then 10.1. The 10.1MR put it on par with IOS and 10.2 added further refinement. 10.2.1 is superior to IOS in nearly every way. In fact, if IOS7 is a cute fluffy long eared rabbit, then BlackBerry 10.2.1 is the grizzly bear that is using it for toilet paper!

- That's the problem,.. They don't want to use help. They want it done for them!! Help is for the intelligent people, that's why there intelligent. Willing to learn. It's the very reason why I carry a Blackberry, the more I learn with it the better the experience. I have used every platform and none excels above Blackberry! "NONE' IMHO!moyah8 likes this.11-25-13 11:31 AMLike 1
- Every technology needs a learning curve. If you pick iPhone for the first time, you can't know how to use it. So it's the medieval and stock people. If you have used any smartphone before, you can use BB10. I figured it out within a day without any tutorial.

- You can figure out how to "use" BB10, but it's not possible to pick up the phone and learn all the features. That's why CB is so awesome.
Posted via CB1011-25-13 05:36 PMLike 0 - Nuke that's likely not to happen. BlackBerry has already said they are going after a small slice of the smartphone market. That's their only chance for survival.

Posted via Z10 on the best touchscreen keyboard.11-26-13 07:45 PMLike 0 - I find this statement odd, because my z10 outperforms my iPhone 5s notification system.
I'm what some would call a hard core app user (ipad 4, 2 ipods, apple tv, iPhone 5, mbp, and a imac) and I was amazed with bb10 from the start, most (not all) iphone users are like Samsung commercials, they don't know how featureless the iphone is. Things like nfc, I used to be that guy saying we don't need nfc, till I used it and seen it's possibilities. I agree with the poster on bb10 is a more productive o's then ios. I usually pick my ios decides up to open Netflix, use the apple tv remote, etc. But handling emails, messages, texts, bbm, mentions, tags, etc for my business without a hub is a nightmare.
