Just discovered an issue at work in our Active Sync Environment.

We are about to set an active sync policy to enable device lock after 10 minutes of inactivity. I have spotted on my Z30, that after connecting to my active sync account, even if this policy is applied or not, if I change the "allow apps to extend password lock time" to off, I can no longer turn it back on again. The only way around this is to remove the active sync account, go back into the security settings menu and turn on the "allow apps to extend password lock time"

    Has anyone else experienced this?

That's a security feature, you're probably going to have to talk to your admins about it.

Activesync settings take priority over your local wishes. The Activesync admin can set a password locking time and prevent you extending it. Working as Designed.

There is a separate section in the active sync policy settings at present we don't have the time out set. This is planned, so I was just testing to see what happened. The problem seems to be that even with the most basic policy set such as just password required for example. When you manually turn off the extend time switch on the phone, it just greys the option out with no way other than completely removing the active system account.
