I had the same issue since yesterday. If the googlemail vs gmail thing applies to you, it might be a reason. As for me, I could solve it by

    1. Changing from googlemail.com to gmail.com with google
    2. Deleting the existing mail account on my bb device
    3. Adding the new account referring to gmail.com.

I am unaware of further changes throughout this procedure, but just performing steps 2 and 3 didn't do the trick.
Now it's solved and I am one more happy blackberrian.
    Thanks people!

By the way, my Google Calendar is no longer synching with my BB. Any ideas?

(Note that I haven't yet done the above Gmail thing - will do it tonight)

    Thanks as ever!!

Have now done the change to Gmail. It has not helped: sent items still being deleted. And no Google Calendar events in my BB (it doesn't sync at all).

Bit of a heroic failure, all in all!

UPDATE: Sorry, correction - the test message that was deleted then came back, and the next sent test message was also not deleted. So you have solved the problem for me! Thanks so very much to you all.

However I still can't see my Google calendar.

Just to clarify: no Google Calendar appointments, past or future, show on my BB, and when I enter a new appointment only the local calendar is shown as an option. Similarly, when sending myself (from work) an appointment/meeting invitation, I can only accept it from my local calendar, not my Google one.

    Thanks....

I assume you will have to wait some time.

I guess you can also register a CalDAV account with your old googlemail.com authentication. For the server address, use :
    www.google.com/calendar/dav/your login@googlemail.com/events/

Better to wait a little though.

OK, I'll give it a while and then start setting fire to puppies in my frustration. Thanks (yet) again.

Would it not have synced by now?

Have to confess, I don't think I understand this.

EDIT: Actually I did manage to work it out, thanks, and it seems to have worked. I did this:
SETTINGS - ACCOUNTS - ADD ACCOUNT - ADVANCED - CalDAV, then entering:
    Description: Googlemail Calendar
    Username: [myname]@googlemail.com
    Email address: [myname]@googlemail.com
    Password: Usual googlemail/gmail password
    Server address: (as above, thanks)
    - otherwise leaving defaults

    Thanks very much.

I hope this is me sorted for now - until I find something else has gone wrong while I wasn't looking!!

Seriously, to Joshu42 and others: I really am very grateful to you as there is no way whatsoever that I could have done this without your help.

It's stopped doing it now. And for everyone else?

I think it was Google, and they quietly fixed it. Did anyone get a reply?

If you mean from Google, Graham, I didn't even think of trying!

By the way, one downside of the steps I took above is that I can't send meeting invitations from my Googlemail calendar because there's no e-mail address associated with it, and it's not possible to associate one now that the e-mail account uses a different address ([email protected]). However this isn't really a significant problem for me, as I just do them using my local calendar instead - I can't be arsed to worry further about this!
