After installing 10.3.1.1865, on my Z10 STL 100-4, my phone thinks my Acura is an Audi. Anyone have any ideas about why that would be?

Aside from killing a couple of Android apps, everything else seems to be working well: the camera is very responsive, the sound level is fine. Most of the apps seem to be functioning smoothly, and no connection problems. I installed the new OS, last night. I have no idea about the battery, because I have been working it pretty hard.

Some of the new screens take a little getting used to, but nothing that time won't cure. It did download every Facebook post, from the beginning of time, into the Hub, but was able to delete them, so all is well (so far.)

UPDATE: After a day and a half of using OS 10.3.1.2708/1865, I have to say that I am pretty impressed. I updated with fear and trepidation, due to so many complaints by others, with a number of different updates. This update (on my Z10 100-4) is very smooth and quick. The camera focuses smoothly and quickly. I had some problems with a few Android apps, but was able to fix "most" of them with updates. I am a happy camper. The battery seems to be about the same. I have had no connection problems, at home, office, or public hotspots. I suppose I can forgive it, if it doesn't know the difference between an Acura and an Audi.

I'm not 100% sure as I don't have a Bluetooth enabled vehicle to pair a device with, but what happens if you remove the link between the phone and the car and then pair them again? Does the issue still occur?

How about just editing the device name in Bluetooth settings?

I will give that a try, in the morning, but I suspect it won't make a difference. The car and phone have been paired for two years, and it just recognized the car, as an Audi, when I started it, this morning. It doesn't seem to affect the operation. (Maybe Audi and Acura use the same system?)

It just shows as: "My Car," in the settings.

I believe in careful, systematic troubleshooting. Here are my questions:

    1. Are you sure your car is an Acura, not an Audi? Check the badge to confirm.

    2. Are you sure you were sitting in your car, and not a different one?

    Let us know.

    1. I checked the badges, on the steering wheel, and on the grill.
    2. Yep!
    3. But - for a second, the thought did cross my mind that I might be within 30 feet of a running Audi. Then realized that was impossible.

Yep, but decided against a battery pull.

After trying everything: I still see the 4 rings, on startup, but they disappear after a few seconds, and everything works, all the voice commands, etc. Therefore, because no-one can see my screen, but me, I am not going to worry about it. "I" know, it is not an Audi, and that's what counts

Perhaps they use similar software systems, you'd expect it to show as a Honda over an Audi but there we go *shrug*.

In my Ford, when I connected for the first time it gave me options for Ford, Mercury and Lincoln. As all three use identical systems, the phone asked me to choose the car I drive.

In all probability Audio and Acura use the same software, and in BB's database there is no entry for Acura.

I will try, when I am in the car. I am not sure I can capture the screen, while it is connecting. It disappears, when it is finished.

No luck. Cannot get a screen shot, while connecting. The screen locks, until it is finished.

    When connected to your car:

    Pick up phone
    Swipe down for settings
    Touch bluetooth
Touch the connected icon for your car
This takes you to device details
You can rename your car there
Underneath you should see the mac address, label device address
You can use something like below link to find what company that mac address is allocated to
    http://www.techzoom.net/Tools/CheckMacAddress
    Might help explain?

Might be worth removing your phone from the car memory and car from phone memory and then pairing them again you may get the option to choose Audi Acura?

And no matter what - DO NOT flash your car with 10.3.2.500 or you will NEVER be able to drive in reverse again - you will only be able to drive forward.

    Your car. UPGRADED.

In bluetooth settings long press on your cars saved connection. Click unset my car. Delete the saved bluetooth connection. Repair from scratch and see if it picks up the my car piece again. If not you can long press on it to set it manually again.
