    Contact management is so frustrating.
I use a gmail account to store all my contacts.
I then access it via Seamonkey IMAP, and use Gsync to link the contacts
It's a lot of steps but generally it works.
However I have a 30 contacts on my phone that will not sync.
They appear in "Local" contacts on my phone.
How can I get them copied, linked, merged etc into my gmail contacts so they will sync across all my devices?

    Thanks
I read one of those before.
    This is absolutely stupid.
I mean are you f'ing kidding me stupid.
There appears to be no way to copy a local contact to another contact container.

OK in one of the links it talks about importing SIM contacts. I looked into what contacts are stored on SIM.
Under Contacts/settings (swiped down while in contacts app) there's a button to manage SIM contacts.
OK open, and 9 contacts on my phone SIM.
Now settings, turn off my gmail contacts, back out, and touch the all tab. This should be all contacts stored locally. There's 33.
Where are these additional 33 contacts being stored. It's these 33 that I'm trying to get imported into my gmail contacts.
These are people I've added into my phone prior to 10.2.1. Anything after that would have been added to the gmail.
Now turn on SIM contacts, and theres 41.
    None of this makes sense.

I don't know if there's a better option, but saving via a vcf worked for me. Here's the steps.

    1. Choose contact and select Share Contact
    2. Choose any email account. The contact details will be attached as a vcf.
    3. Click on the vcf and select Save.
    4. Select Add New and follow the usual steps.

Going through a vcf is annoying, but it works. Thankfully the vcf is never saved anywhere.

I know this is old, but wanted to let you guys know what I did to move contacts from local only to my Active sync account with [email protected]

All I did was compose a new email to myself, then hit attach, then hit contacts. I then selected every single one of the contacts I wanted. Then sent my self that email with about 80 contacts.

I then then I opened the email in Microsoft Outlook and update every contact and saved it! It was very good to look through each contact
