    Hi XcrazyS,

Unfortunately I am not able to download the Ghostery browser from the BB browesr. What should I do?

Edit: I did it at the end... congrats, your browser flies. Amazing work. Thank you very much.
Are you using a Passport? I like to experiment with apps on a spare Z10 that I have and this Ghostery app downloaded and installed well and it does work quite well even on my Z10. Just now I've tried to install on my Passport and it never quite finishes the installation. I've tried 3 times now with reboots etc and still nothing.

I had to use Fennec to download and install it... is that what you're using?

No, I just downloaded the apk on a PC and from there used File Manager on my BB10 devices to install. Works fine on the Z10 but the installation never finishes on the Passport.Adapted Android applications, tips and tricks.-img_20191009_205841.jpg

It stays about 95% finished and never completes.

If you go back to your apps screen, is the icon among them? I have found some apks take forever if you wait on them to complete. I usually just wait until the permissions boxx pops up and accept them if I feel necessary, then go back and open the app from the main screen.

Yes, the icon is there but when tapped I just get a black screen with " initializing, please wait....." and that also runs forever (I've waited a full 10 minutes until my device gets hot. Very odd because the Z10 took it no problem with the same OS on both devices. @XcrazyS - any advice?

    @brookie229,
Yes, I have a Blackberry Passport SE.
    • Check the hash amount (for example, using the native "File Hash" or "MD5 Hash Calculator" application):
      MD5 / SHA1:
      d130c7a8c8062192e9803997ee2e04eb / 27cdfff6b2254b65449ef44b62d80dcd7ac77188
    • Reboot the device by holding both side volume keys,
    • Deactivate Blackberry Guardian.
    • Try installing the application again.
Adapted Android applications, tips and tricks.-img_20191010_093717.jpg

Download is good as per above
Rebooted device with both side vol keys
Blackberry Guardian was deactivated long ago
I've tried reinstalling and no success.

    Thanks for trying!
p.s - Works nicely on my spare Z10

If the malfunction exists, it must be fixed.
Do you have any other Android browsers installed?
I did have Kiwi initially but after awhile (several tries to install) I deleted it, searched for remnants, rebooted then tried Ghostery again but no good. I've done everything I can think of so I'm back to Kiwi which is ok. I've given up on your browser - no big deal, as I just like to try other browsers. All is OK.

    Working on it mh.

The ban on TeamViewer was removed some time ago, though I'm all for multiple people removing it themselves if they wish. It is a different style of ban than what Amazon Prime appears to be using.

    @TrumpetTiger,
If you look, the list of changes is much wider than editing the "bools". Especially for Blackberry Passport - my modifications are most pronounced, because a magnifier is used for navigation.
I modified my first 14 version last year, when it was just released. On my Russian-language forum, I often post different applications.
In applications, I’m doing a redesign of the icons and application interface in the style of a Blackberry, delete all analytics, advertising activities, clean the manifest and remove Google dependencies. Also engaged in the activation of full versions, paid, etc. I just don’t know how your leadership relates to such modifications.
In any case, we are doing one common thing, we support the system’s operability by all available methods. Good luck in the development. I hope you like my apps.
I also want to note that part of the bar files from this list are still not added to the general list in the corresponding topic:

    Hello Xcrazy,

I'm all for people modifying APKs in whatever method they wish, as long as they are made freely available and not claimed to developed from scratch (such as Nemory Studios does). I'm glad you were able to modify TeamViewer and anything else you wish to do. I do think modifications should generally be limited to those required for apps to function normally for widespread distribution as I find that tends to introduce the fewest compatibility problems for multiple users. But again, go for whatever modifications you wish.

I admit to being a little curious as to what you mean by "the style of a Blackberry," but otherwise I think it's great that people are working on making APKs available. I do think that native apps are a better overall forum for development, and given your clear talents in this area if you are willing having a new, say, native browser would be a great thing to have. But again, you do you.

On the bar files: could you let me know your original source for the ones not freely available? I'm trying to make certain that the ones on the main thread are direct from developers wherever possible, and while that's not always possible I like to double-check. The emulators and such I know are freely available, but Paperbird for example is not so far as I know. However, perhaps I am missing something. Feel free to PM me if you'd like as well.

As for general updates, I have a great many Blackberry and other irons in the fire right now but I appreciate your ping on the BAR list and will endeavor to update the thread shortly so that there is one central list. With that said I'm all for others distributing as well; the more the merrier.

    @TrumpetTiger,
I understand your concern in verifying the originality of the installation files, security is important in this matter.
I searched all bar files on Github and Sourceforge, in the original author repositories.
Finding all the repositories again, of course, is very difficult, but I will try.
For example, Paperbird (and other applications of this developer) is the official developer repository - https://github.com/anpho.
    Emulator GnGeo - https://sourceforge.net/projects/gngeo10/
Emulator GnGeo for Playbook - https://sourceforge.net/projects/gngeopb/
Archive with BIOS and games for GnGeo - assembled manually.
Soon I will show you what Blackberry design means in android applications.
And I'll show you some more features of the system, reviews of which are not on your forum.
Great; thanks for the GitHub link. GitHub in particular does host some interesting BB10-related repositories. When I locate relevant apps there I try to test and then post once confirmed working

I'll be interested to hear more about what you mean by the term of "the style of a Blackberry" in this context. If there are features of BB10 of which I am unaware then please by all means let us know; it's always good to learn more about BB10's native capabilities.

    @TrumpetTiger,
I do not consider the applications from Nemory worthy.
As we say in Russia - "Sells boots to shoemakers."
This developer simply takes web versions of applications and mounts them in the system WebView. In fact, these applications are just browser pages and no integration into the system. Not worth a penny.
Absolutely agree Xcrazy. The man rips people off and claims apps others have developed as his own, then charges for them. Definitely a shady character and one to avoid.

Fennec 68.2 Blackberry Design and Adaptation by XcrazyS

    • Based on F-Droid's Fennec 68.2 version,
    • Includes two full-fledged display modes, depending on your Blackberry screen settings:
      • In the "Full Size" mode - the standard mobile navigation bar is displayed,
      • In the "Zoom Out" mode - the tab mode is activated, as on a PC,
When changing the display mode - it is necessary to restart the browser so that the markup overturns,
    • Library compression removed,
    • The display name of the application is "Fennec Browser" for the Russian locale (Browser Fennec for all other languages),
    • Blackberry style icon for all devices on Blackberry 10,
    • Connected: magnifier, text selection sliders in the application input fields (in the navigation menu, bookmark menu, etc.),
    • The Blackberry system font is partially integrated, to display the font on pages - disable downloading fonts from sites in the settings,
    • Auto-correction of text is connected,
    • Redesigned application graphics, panel sizes, improved text editing menu,
    • Removed duplicate graphics for different resolutions and markup for all devices with Android above 4.3,
    • uBlock Origin (required) and Ghostery can be installed as a separate add-on,
    • Additional settings - at your own peril and risk, by entering the address about:config

    @elfabio80,
If you already managed to install my version - please download the application again, I just updated it, making some more graphical changes.
    • Ghostery are no longer updated,
    • Fennec does not have a preinstalled Ghostery add-on (not everyone needs it),
    • Fennec is faster,
    • Fennec is updated regularly,
    • I like the design of Fennec more (along with my graphic edits),
    • about:config allows you to disable any component of the browser, making it more anonymous, so don’t see any particular advantages in the Ghostery browser. Now I will support only Fennec.
    • I recommend removing Ghostery and installing Fennec.

I like to customize the system and adapt native and Android applications under Blackberry 10.

To download files from Yandex Disk, you can use:
    • Browser PaperBird (BBW) in "User Agent" mode "Opera Desktop".
    • Almost any Android Browser, including the system Android Browser (which can be opened using the Application Manager).

    Adapted applications:
FOSS Youtube/Sound Cloud - client of New Pipe version 0.17.1
    Team Viewer 1.4.3.198
Telegram X 0.21.9.1172 with data transfer script to a sdcard

    8-Ball Script for Action Trigger
WhatsApp data transfer script to a sdcard
    Kiwi Browser Genie 75.0
    WiFi Analyzer 3.11.1
    Native Bar Files Part 1
    Native Bar Files Part 2
    Browser Ghostery 2.4.7

    Telegram X 0.22.0.1205
    Facebook Lite 167.0.0.4.120
    TeamViewer 14.6.236
I really wanted to thank you for this, i love the bb10 OS, and i've tried countless and better phones than my Leap, but i kinda don't want to let it go somehow.. And this keeps me using it!
