This is a simple one, I'm curious if lots of people even use Active Frames or not? Go...

Nope. And I preferred the multi-tasking on the Playbook to bb10. But I don't have too much passion about the topic either way.

I have a few open at all times. Battery guru is one also Crackberry. ChiveOn is open often and if I am researching or fooling around on the Internet then the Browser will stay active for convenience. Most others I will close when not in use.

    It depends on the situation.

I use them for multitasking EXTENSIVELY.

However, I pretty much NEVER use them as a way to "quickly check app information" (ala Windows Phone 7/8 tiles).

However, if I have a couple of apps that I'm using to do a single task, then I am the active frame MASTER and love the ability to switch between these apps so fast.

I like having Twitter updates while I'm doing something else. CB10 should be the same way, but something about the resolution of the Z30 letter boxes the pictures.

Um it's pretty much the same really just the PlayBook has a larger screen so the content continues not to entice the larger battery also helps.

I use them all the time an app supports them on bb10.

Yeah it's kinda hard NOT to use them as their active almost instantly with many apps.

Weather (native) and Remember, and up until today BX Battery Monitor always open; occasionally Corky Notes when I want a temporary reminder of something.

I would use them a LOT more for "app info" if I could pin them.

I suggest BlackBerry have the option for a hybrid of BB10 and Windows Phone 8.

They should allow upto 8 apps running in the background, but also allow an unlimited apps open that just update periodic app info (with the core app suspended or closed, so as to not require much RAM or CPU resources).

That would be ideal. That would mean your last 8 apps are actually resident in memory and running, and the rest are 'stopped' except for their active screen updates.

This would solve the issue of having too many fully-running apps in RAM at the same time.

No, I get even worse battery life than I usually do when more active frames are running. It's not a major drop, but I need to be conservative with how pisspoor the Z10's battery life is on 10.2.1. Plus, I get the occasional slowdown when moving down the home screen if there are active frames or even just applications running.

I'd like the ability to manage open apps automatically by the OS and just disable the frames.

Yeah, not the biggest deal.... just a few minor differences.

    - I prefer the landscape & portrait side by side view, vs boxed
    - I prefer being able to see sessions are just off the screen
    - I prefer seeing where I left the app vs the active frame
    - I prefer being able to set videos, etc to keep playing
    - I prefer the swipe to close

The current design is functional, and not in my top 10 changes requests.

Same here, use them for multitasking. Checking a pdf or mail whilst taking notes. Not so much for checking new information. Close them down most of the time.

I use them due to it being such an integral part of the OS. Do I got out of my way to leave certain apps open and such....No.

Same here. I've had my z10 for about 4 weeks now and I loaded the OTA Update from Verizon before I even activated the phone and my battery life has been pretty good. I make it through the whole work day without having to charge it, I'm happy
