reviving an old thread here... but i just got a galaxy gear... i dont really care about the notifcations etc etc... just wondering if anyone has used the watch with the bb10 OS? at all?

Isn't the current runtime in BB10 Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2? If so then it won't work with Galaxy Gear as that requires 4.3 and Samsungs apps , same reason when it was released not all of the Galaxy line could use the watch as the OS wasn't upgraded to 4.3 or above.

If you look on XDA developers the original gear has been rooted and the os modified to be a standalone watch. This can then be bt tethered to a bb10 device. Dont expect notifications etc. As the only thing your BlackBerry will provide is a Web connection. Make sure your watch is not updated to tizen though.
