I got the app called 2G to 3G to 4G switcher, but all it appears to do is take me to my network settings.

I keep my Q10 in 2G most of the time so that I can go a few days without a charge, but 2G is just too slow. 3G is really my ideal mix of speed vs power, but if I want to enable 3G I must also enable 4G.

Is there a 2G & 3G mode in 10.3? Any apps that offer this mode?

This is a carrier provisioned setting. I doubt the app that you downloaded, or any app does anything but take you to Settings>Network and Connections>Mobile Network.

If you are in the US or Canada, the 4G you see is actually HSPA+, which uses the same towers as 3G, and is just "faster" 3G. So 4G & 3G would be using the same towers, and this 4G would not be any more battery-killing than 3G.

Here's mine. Maybe it's a carrier setting if you don't have these options.

    And my options displayed are:

    4G LTE & 4G/3G & 2G
    4G LTE & 4G/3G
    4G & 3G & 2G
    4G & 3G
    2G

I don't know what the difference between "4G/3G" and "4G & 3G" is, but looking at BoyTanggol's screenshot and my settings, we can at least see that there are differences in presentation of options on different carrers (I have TMO US.)

On AT&T, there are no options. Your fixed to "LTE"...

At least, it drops to the next available network type should you leave an area with LTE, but you can't force it to a lower type.

AT&T is infamous for doing this to their phones (well, at least BBs.) Again, all provisioning.

Thanks for the replies guys... so if I were to install an OS directly from Blackberry instead of from Rogers, would I get the full range of options?

No. It's a SIM controlled feature. Are you in one of those countries that refers to LTE as 4G? If not, then go with the 4G & 3G option (that's in your screenshots.)

I did not know these options we carrier specific! I so want an option for just 2G because sometimes when I go camping I don't want E-mails and such coming through to 2G will add some great lag to it lol.

    My Options are:

    4G
    4G & 3G
    4G & 3G & 2G
    3G
    3G & 2G

    But no 2G only option
