Would appreciate if someone may clarify what is going to happen to BB10 after 2 years?

Nobody knows for sure. BB has never done this before.

In the beginning, I didn't realize my old BB10 devices contacted BB10 servers for anything like the older BBOS devices contacted BBOS servers. I've since been informed by far more knowledgeable people on the forums that, we just don't know what's going to happen but one possibility is that BB10 devices may not verify accurately in the bootup process and therefore may not complete the process.

I would just proceed based on the assumption that the phone won't be useful as at Dec 2019.

Meaning the entire OS will stop and no one can use it?

This is scaring me, can't even imagine that.
We should do something, what about our lovely physical keyboards and awesome devices ):

If what you've mentioned is true then I will never turn off my device, lol.

I don't know. I've long ago moved on to BBAndroid devices. I still have my BB10 devices, however, it's possible they may no longer function after 2019. I only use BB10 for entertainment purposes. We'll just have to wait and see.

Agreed, but, assuming it all goes TU in January 2020, can hardly wait for the wailing and gnashing of teeth by those in denial.

There's always the Priv, KEYone and 2 more physical keyboard devices coming out this year from BBMo.

Your BB10 device will transform into an 100ft mechanical killing machine and rampage through the city, crushing everything in it's path.

I just hope they will allow us to Root the device anytime soon. This way we can install anything we want on them.
And there are plenty of choices. Starting from Replicant OS to Ubuntu Touch or Linux Plasma KDE. And voilà - you now have something that works and gets updates.

p.s. Well maybe not anything we want because it's not a "typical" hardware that typical android runs on...
