if you have this issue of notification people say open oobe:// in web browser for initial setup but that do not solve notification issue ... or other solution are many restarts or hard reset

but the one i am just mentioning is 2000 % verified ....... In your first attempt if you have issue just load 10.2.1 then complete setup and start loading 10.3.1.1016 you will see initial setup and no notification issue

tahabashir1991, usually BB10 devices that have just been loaded with new firmware and software, will behave odd if a security wipe is not performed as soon as the new OS is loaded. This tends to solve lots of issues that freshsly updated devices come up,with, especially the good ol' STL100-1 that we have learned to love even as a subpar device among the other Z10 variants.

However... The issue you describe sounds much more like another phenomenon that the Z10 throws at its users. For some reason sometimes after loading an OS, and even just randomly, it stops emmiting souds, but if you clamp the bottom with your fingers and press gently, it comes back instantly and it stays that way. Believe me, its not specific to my phone. Ive seen it discussed on several forums.

It works. Thanks for the tips.

Installing 10.2.1 first and complete the setup resolved the no initial setup issue (which lead to no ringtone).

Before this I tried to install 10.3 first before loading the 10.3.1 but the issue still persist. I even try to autoload 3-4 times 10.3.1 OS but still to no avail. Installing 10.2.1 solve the problem.

it did not work with me, I reverted back to 1.938 using autoloader still no initial setup, I made the initial setup work by using sic wipe with radio from 801

z10 stl-1 1.938/radio 801

It takes about 2000% less time than the next most simple suggestion posted so far, and I guarantee it will solve the issue immediately for some of you. It really works.

As a matter of fact, the video was shot about one hour before I got around to upgrade to 10.3.1.1016. Guess what issue I had after the upgrade, the solution I chose, and how much time it took?

I know this is as voodoo as it gets with troubleshooting. You will be surprised.

yes i know that i have two z10 white which i bought just after the launch and black one now a month ago ......... the sound issue you are reffering to is present in my white z10 that is defect in hardware ...........
and here the notification sound in this thread is related to software issues ..... that is somehing else ....... you are not getting sound notification on incoming call but can play music so speaker are working properly and notifications are not.............

if i get you right you are pointing on hardware side issue of z10 thanks for the video ...... will apply it on my z10 white when next time this issue comes up

Removing the battery did the trick for me, without the need of installing the 10.2 autoloader.

Now using 10.3.1.1016

I'm glad it worked for you & the few others. But it didn't work for me. I used 10.2.1.29xx autoloader. Set up everything. Later used the 10.3.1.1016 autoloader and still no initial setup.
