Just saw in another thread that a blackberry person on twitter said no big camera features are coming to 10.2.... I hope he was wrong. I would like slow motion and panorama.

Poor Mike, it's not his fault, but due to his job he is always the one to shoot the bad news.

Yes, Michael said no big enhancements for 10.2, camera-wise.

    My 2 biggest camera grapes:

    1. Often takes unwanted pictures due to the screen sensitivity.

    2. No option to adjust the sensitivity so pictures often come out with incorrect exposure. Most cameras have a mode where you can select different settings like multi focus or point the camera towards the object of main interest, hold down the focus button while moving the camera to the full scene you want and take the picture with the preselected focus.

I think these issues are more important than adding new "trick" options.

You can move the focus wherever you want on the z10, just hold down the green square and drag it.

They probably didn't have time to introduce the new multimedia features and some of them have started to appear in 2.1

So fwiw, idk if ofutur said this already or if it was the same in 10.2.0 camera app coding, but they have actually started coding 480p mode, panorama and hispeed modes into the actual camera app file.

there's mentions of the toggles when switched on calling on the hispeed and panorama mode icon posted in the OP.

i also think manual focus options is coming. toggles such as: manual, macro, continuous auto, continuous macro

It's been like that for a while now. It has started in 10.2, but nothing has materialised in the UI.
I have high hopes we'll get panorama in 10.2.1 because a while back I reported that they had linked the gyroscope to the camera.

I also found some changes regarding focus, but I have disregarded it as it seemed to just have been some shuffling around.

ah i see, seems fruitful though. hoping for at-least some of them to be implemented in 10.2.1, if not all, then i guess we have an idea that there will be something after 10.2.1

I think the app has been ready since 10.2.0, but they needed some changes in core components and decided to wait for the next dot release instead of delaying the whole cycle. 10.2.1 focuses heavily on multimedia, so maybe it's finally ready

The low light mode and panorama modes are a must.

60 FPS camera, focus changes and iso/camera modes would be a bonus.

I don't think there is a low light mode as the low light performance was improved in the basic camera mode.

This is different than that. I need this.
Go to 4:45 never materialized and I can't get a response from James on getting the bar file for whatever he was using on 10.2

Like I said, that mode was incorporated in the basic camera settings and a separate low light mode might not come through. The icon for the low light mode is actually the icon for the high speed mode. So it was probably there in that particular build only for testing. This was discussed many times in the forums in the past when this mode was dropped in subsequent builds.
