Edit : Disregard the title, a moderator didn't understand my post and changed it. This is about ONE finger swipe down on keyboard.

I just found out by mixing up for a second my Z10 for my old Storm that swiping down on the virtual keyboard with one finger changes the keyboard to special characters. Also, when you actually access the special character page this way, it is not toggled, so typing one of these characters immediately brings you back to the letters keyboard. This way, you save a key press.

I just want to add that I just love all the keyboard swipe gestures mostly because you don't need to be as accurate at typing the key than swiping, which covers the whole keyboard and does the same action. This reduces errors and increase typing speed, especially for the erasing left swipe.

    Anyway, love my Z10.

And two fingers up to bring up the keyboard. Swipe backwards on the keyboard with multiple fingers to delete multiple words.

Flick a word with two fingers and it'll post the word twice.

Funny how you all talk about two fingers swipe, which is not my OP :P

I thought swipe left, swipe up, two fingers up, two finger down has been talked a lot, but not swipe down. Anyway, the point is made.

It's a cool trick; however, I hold down the Space Bar to hide my keyboard.

Hey, how come you moderator changed my title? I don't want to point out two fingers to close the keyboard, everybody knows that! I want to point out one finger down to access special characters !

Could you change that back please... That's quite clear in my OP.

Swiping down the keyboard to show special character is indeed a cool trick, especially when you only need to type one specially character. Use the "?123" key if you need to type more than one special characters.

Wow... no offense, but been with BlackBerry since 2007 and had the Z10 Feb 4th, and I now get flagged as a noob because the moderator changed my thread title. Superb. :P

Edit: And there is even a mistake, bah.

If you swipe down a second time, you get more special characters . Swipe down a third time and it goes back to the Qwerty.

Both gestures are covered in the manual.

You can also swipe up from the alt characters to go back one "page".

I also assumed people read manuals lol

Swipe left on the keyboard to (one finger) delete a word, (two fingers) delete two words. Touch the clock to get Settings menu. Don't need to swipe from the top. Yes, manuals are cool. I read every manual that comes with everything I own. That is all.

The moderators on crackberry have been far too free with changing thread titles lately. It is quite disturbing for what is meant to be a forum

Please edit the title from wipe to swipe.

It sounds rather awkward especially since I'm currently in the bathroom doing some of my own. Lol

Oh, just keep in mind, for instance, if you are typing just one number or special character, it will return to Qwerty after you press any key. If you plan on using multiple numbers or characters, then you should press the?123 key to allow multiple inputs from the page you select.

I find swiping up from the bottom bezel with both thumbs a much faster alternative to peeking.
