I've got a Z30 which i use with Telus. Was on 10.2.1 without any issues - upgraded to 10.3.0.1154 and restored apps on top. It was quite sluggish and none of my android apps will run. Then upgraded to 10.3.1 and no restore. Everything is smoother , but the battery drain is too much. Almost half of what i used to get on 10.2.1

So any suggestions for me? go back to the official 10.2.1 or try a clean install of 10.3? There are conflicting reports on this forum. Some say 10.3 is better than 10.3.1 and vice versa.

    What should I do?

    Try doing some hard resets.

Hold volume up and down until the blue square appears.

    Do it a few times.

Hmm :S I have a Z30 on Telus, and I did a restore over my 10.3 when I updated, and everything is great on my end :S I believe some apps were a little buggy for me at the beginning with draining too much battery, but things seemed to smooth out after a couple days. How long have you had the update?

Didn't do a security wipe before installing the new or. I thought I the auto loader automatically worse everything while loading the OS??

10.3 and 10.3.1 are all a little hard on battery life. Never restore from 10.2.xxx to 10.3. Always do a fresh install of all apps and settings.

I found 10.3.1130 to be the smoothest out of all the recent leaks. But 10.3.1 has much nicer options.

OK. doing the security wipe now. Not sure whether this will make any difference..The device gets warm in general with 10.3.1 and the battery is pretty bad so far. I've read posts from others saying after 3/4 days its better..But I don't think I can wait that long with no guarantee. If this doesn't work I'll go back to the official 10.2.1

I have a z30 on Telus and ran 30.0 and now 3.1 with a restore each time. 3.0 was find but started to get buggy right around when 3.1 came out. I was on 3.1 for a few days and didn't like the battery drain either but now it's seemingly getting better day over day. I think as with most leaks there's a bake in period where we need to be patient.

A slow climb to the top is always more rewarding. Sent using my BlackBerry Z10.

I am on Bell with a Z30. I have been on 10.3.0.1052 and now. 1154. Both times no restore. Actually I did a restore once and it made my phone really sluggish and unusable. Wiped again/ reinstalled autoloader and no restore. I use fire chest for my calendar and contacts and sms backup for my texts. I restore those only and setup everything else manually and have had no issues and no settling in period that others claim you have to go through. I use my phone light/moderate everyday and I usually have 60% battery left or better every day. Off charger at 7am and back on at 11 PM. I have found that doing a restore, even partial ones have done nothing but cause issues for me in one way or another. I now just start fresh every time. Backup/transfer what you can to your SD card and fresh install the rest. Just my opinion, your mileage may vary. A security wipe may or may not solve the issues you are having. I have yet to try 10.3.1 on my z30 but I have it on my z10 and it seems OK, tho I don't use that phone everyday. Hope that helps you.

OP you should just update via Sachesi. The process acts like an OTA update. You don't have to restore after.

Just did a security wipe and reloaded the 10.3.1 via autoloader - no restore of anything. The battery is quite bad so far. I'll monitor this for a day or 2 and report back. I quite don't get this "settling" concept. People say once the OS is settled the battery is better. What does this mean?
With official 10.2.1 there is no settling period..Anyway I'll give this a go as I quite like 10.3.1

    Security wipe.

"Settling" is just another way of saying indexing. Usually the os is indexing when you run an auto loader or do a recovery with BlackBerry Link, also its pooling all the data from your accounts and doing a triage etc etc.

Doesn't usually take before long but battery drain is considerable for a little while.

After a few hours plug in your phone and let the device monitor guide you to find the drain. If there's still one.

Did the security wipe and plugged my phone the whole night..been suing since 7am and it's about 56% now after 3.5 hours.. still way behind what I used to get with 10.2.1. Hopefully it gets better after a few days.

    System is eating the battery
