Passport launches 9/24 in Toronto, London and Dubai. It is expected to be "on the shelves" by 10/1 in those markets, with USA a week to more later. It will come with BB10.3.0.####.
BB10.3.1.#### will be released later for all existing devices. Blackberry has changed the "date" a few times during the past 6+ months for this, from sometime in November to sometime in February 2015. While a 10.3.1 version may show up sooner for some carriers and existing devices, it will most likely be around the latest time frame for all carriers and all existing devices.

10.3 works great on my Z10. Battery life is similar. Just the brightness scale is much higher so what was 50% on 10.2 is now 25% or so. So turn it down to near 10%.
Android apps work great. Much faster than 10.2. Love the new camera functions. The quick delete on the hub is just excellent.

Just fill in the blanks, all the previous post were confusing....

BlackBerry Passport Release date is_____Sept 24 (official unveiling)

10.3 for all other devices is _____Never (only Passport)

Classic release______November (running 3.1)

10.3.1 Release ______November (all devices)

Most people believe that the Classic & 10.3.1 will be released in November as BlackBerry has constantly said this. There are a few in the forum who claim January/Fabuary however those dates are not based on anything from BlackBerry or leaks ect. They are based on people's conjecture that BlackBerry won't meet their own projected release dates (though it looks like they will) or that the carriers will be slow to release the update to their users. This is something that is outside of BlackBerry's control & could (& probably will happen) in the USA. As no one knows if or how long the American carriers will hold back 10.3.1 it's wrong to starts guessing & using those dates as the 10.3.1 release date. The US is only 1 country.....not to mention there's often a big difference in the release dates between the individual US carriers too.

I am done waiting for official OS's I will leave with leaks, after 10.3.1 a leak will be available and we'll jump onto it
So whether they release official now or next year is not much of a hick up, as long as Bla1ze will notify of any leaks

This makes people look pathetic. Are there any official statements made? I would ASSUME BlackBerry only has 10.3 for their newer phones because they want those to make more sales. Duh. Especially in the situation that they were / are in. Then, release 10.3 (10.3.1) on the other phones.

Yes, apple release their update on their phones the day the update is available but it's probably because they will sell a lot of their new phone regardless and because the new update makes the older phones worse so it would make people with older phones want to get the newest one.

At least BlackBerry gives all their phones the same features, etc. of the new update and everything runs better, not worse.

I share your point of view. And want to add that building brand loyalty by releasing new OS for legacy users first or really quick is not in BlackBerry's book.

They build loyalty by giving away free apps in Blackberry World that the only trick they know.

Soon would be nice, when I saw the passport on amazon, knowing it has 10.3, I thought BB would be like Apple and also release 10.3 for the rest of us at that same time. I really don't want to wait till friggen February for 10.3 official

Same here. I loved downloading leaks as soon as I could get them. But I got tired of going to my IT department to get reset for access to my corporate email account. None of that has to be done with an official leak. I will wait current version is still running great and battery life is good on my z10
