I think it would be nice if there was some kind of indicator to let the user know that apps(active frames) are actually running without having to actually go to the home screen. Jus as how OS 10.2 made you quite aware .
Does anyone feel as if this would be a welcome addition, or doesn't it really bother anyone per se

Where in 10.2 can you see what is running other than on the tile screen?

Whenever u have active frames open in 10.2, a unique symbol appears, (four small squircles)

Oh, that thing. How can they get rid of that? The whole point of the bar is to show you want is there...

You talking about the mini BlackBerry logo in the top right beside the cell strength symbol? Cos that has nothing to do with active frames; it just means your phone has Internet access and can access BlackBerry servers.

Disable the home screen when no apps are active. Simple as that. It's the more efficient setting imo.

I am confused, if you have open apps, odds you are on the home screen and see them

There is nothing in 10.2 that tells you there are a voice frames running. Don't feel any need for that either

    Yes there is.
At the bottom where the 'page' numbers are, if you have frames open you get an icon of four squares (like active frames) between the hub (envelope icon) and 'page' 1. When the app is closed (no frames) it disappears

There is, it's a house icon now instead of the four squares.
    They just changed the icon.
