With all due respect to blow many people who use autoloaders, this is one reason is have always simply waited for AT&T to test and release their OTA updates for BB10. They are very, very late, but they've always worked without a hitch.

Obviously, if there's a specific feature you're looking for in the new version and you don't mind the additional effort, there's nothing wrong with the DAY approach, but for, me, I don't want the responsibility and potential headaches.

Having the AT&T seal of approval is rather meaningless. I would doubt they do much, if any, testing at all.

For the most part, they are late to provide updates because they couldn't care less.

As an AT&T customer myself, your fooling yourself if you think AT&T gives a rats patootie about actually testing any BlackBerry OS before releasing it.

The current "official" BB10 OS is 10.3.2.858 which is coming up on 2 years old now. And in that time, plenty of issues have been reported that only newer builds fixed.

It's not the first time either. AT&T skipped 10.2.0 altogether back in 2014, leaving it on a buggy early 10.1.0 build for over a year.

Back when I had a Torch 9800, after only a year after release, AT&T stopped at 6.0.0.600, even though it was problematic as heck and newer builds came along making the phone run much better. To this day, build 600 is still the OS for the 9800 on AT&T.

Have to say that I've had few, if any issues moving up beyond AT&T's official builds. Many times, things were better. And, I've yet to bring down the AT&T mobile network.

Yeah, checking Sachesi for (an example) the Passport on Bell returns 10.3.2 again. It used to give 10.3.3.2205, so it's probably been pulled for some reason.

I was NOT implying that my "couldn't care less" approach to upgrades was somehow superior to an interested and capable person using an autoloader. I was just saying that I've never had any issues simply waiting for the upgrade to appear OTA, and that I wouldn't want to do it myself simply because I don't want to have to trouble shoot in the off chance something doesn't work as it's supposed to. I have enough technical hobbies without turning my phone into one. :-)

However, I have been told by multiple Tier 3 techs at AT&T that they in fact have a testing protocol (focused almost entirely on their SLA policies) to ensure that they don't push updates with issues related to radios, voice mail integration, etc., that could directly impact the services they are paid to provide. That's the testing to which I was referring.

I understand your perspective. I can't say I ever found the bugs in any of the versions particularly troublesome. For my purposes my phone has worked great since launch. I'm glad the option is there to use autoloaders, and I may do it myself someday, but I've been happy without using them. I don't mean to imply that it's better to wait for OTA. That really wasn't my point.

Can you say, "skeleton crew?" The (probably now laid off) dev who wrote the buggy code probably mentioned it not being ready on multiple occasions as he or she was being shown the door.

A lot of people have complained about Bluetooth issues, and I have personally witnessed the blank/black settings screen.

Also noticed that on occasion, the browser in 10.3.3 stops loading new Web pages after being open for a while. Closing and reopening the application does make it work again.

Yep! I had the 10.3.3 update notification for a few weeks and never updated. I decided to see if I could get rid of the notification by starting the update download and then pausing indefinitely. The first step was check for update and viola the update was gone and it said I was on the latest version 10.3.2
