    I appreciate that. But she's 83. I can't really coach her through a third-party solution.

Was kinda hoping blackberry had gotten their **** straight and there was just some reason she wasn't getting the OTA.

So that's not the case, I gather?

My sister got her a Q10 because "it has buttons!" *roll eyes*

    Thanks

My understanding is that the update to OS Version 10.3.1.2558 is Z30-specific to fix the issue where people were experiencing the black display since upgrading to 10.3.1 and letting their battery drain and that the fixed 10.3.1 for everyone will be pushed out soon (within a week).

Why you torture the old lady with a BlackBerry? BB10 is definitely not friendly OS for people with reduced vision. All she needs is a phone with big buttons and a voice service.

Latest update - I can't fully silence the keyboard feedback on my Z30 - Z30STA100-2/10.3.1.2558

Anyone else seen this and know a fix? Slider is set to zero.

The flow of BlackBerry 10 is actually easier to use than physical big buttons or other OS if the user has rheumatoid arthritis.

Right... and the tiny fonts are perfect too.

Not all people with rheumatoid arthritis are blind, not all older people are visually impaired. Most older people if required probably wear their glasses before increasing font size, the older people (definitely over 80yrs old) I've seen using BlackBerry Z10's weren't wearing glasses and I'll assume could see their screen.

BlackBerry's Accessibility features aren't complete but BlackBerry 10 isn't any more difficult to use than other mobile OS if you have limited prior exposure.

Sure... 80+ years old people see well the text under icons on Z10. It's about size 4 on 10.3.1 update, big enough. Younger people use size 2 text for eyes training purposes.

Lack of customization options makes BB10 impossible to adapt to specific needs older people may have. They have to adapt to what's available in BB10. That's the difference.

There is keyboard feedback I can hear in BBM and CB10 now that I am in a quieter spot. I do hope they remedy it as I HATE IT!
