Searched for this but can't find anything on CB10.

Basically, for reasons unknown my Z10STL100-1/10.3.1.2243 (official) would restart all by itself. This is not some "It restarts when you pull it out of your pocket. Coincidence? I think not" sort of thing, it restarted right when I'm using the device, this has happened multiple times

The only common thing I can relate to between all these restarts are the facts that:
    1) I've only had the OS for a few days
    2) It usually happens some time after I manually exited Battery Saving Mode (I always do it from Quick Settings)

Has anyone else had this issue?

Yeah it happens to me at random times with the Passport. I have Power Tools and when I hear the audible voice or the notification that the phone has been turned off that's when I realize the phone restarted. Though it was really hot while restarting about 10 minutes ago . Don't know if that has anything to do with it. Just had 2 active frames open.

Does this have anything to do with the "passport flickering" thingy set in the leak mentioned in the front page?

This has just happened again, at this point I think I should reload my OS. Has anyone ever experienced this issue and found a fix?

Did you happen to get the update OTA? I noticed (among other problems) the phone resetting itself when I had an OTA update. The problem was fixed by reloading the OS using an autoloader.

Yes I went the OTA way. If I reload, how do I preserve my contacts, apps and remember notes? I don't want to lose them thus the non-destructive update. I always do full backup and full restore, never partial and the backup didn't say specific things like Remember notes. Was it bundled in Settings or Apps?

I had an issue with the battery contacts being dirty from the factory, once cleaned rebooting went away.

May I know what you used to clean the battery contacts? This definitely didn't happen with 10.2.1

I used a sharp pointed eraser to remove the goo. This was about 2 months ago.

You can use Fire Chest Backup for your contacts, calendar and remember notes. It's a free app on BBW.

Make sure everything is backed up using BlackBerry Link and then restore after you run the autoloader. If you're still having issues then run the autoloader again but this time DON'T restore using Link. Use Fire Chest to restore the contacts, calendar (if necessary), and remember. You can download your apps from BlackBerry World.

The reason I'm recommending using Link restore first is it's easy and may just do the trick. If not then use Fire Chest and set everything up with a clean install. Personally this is the way I'd go myself but it's up to you which way works best for your time and needs. Good luck and let us know how you make out.

So I tried to clean the contacts and it seems to work. I didn't try reloading the OS. Many thanks to all who have helped
