Just installed the 10.3.0.296 leak on my T-Mobile Z10, and wifi calling (and texting) works! I tested it by disabling my cellular connection and making a call/text. Looks like BlackBerry has been maintaining it on their own, now!

Whoa...if this is true, it would be BIG. Are you sure you're not whitelisted or something?

I believe it. Tweeted T-Mobile about Wifi calling with the Z30 and they said since they never carried it, Wifi calling won't work. But they'd continue to support Wifi calling on any BlackBerry that they sold (Z10, Q10).

This is/would be different. They have not offered WFC for "in-between" (unofficial) builds that they did not release, at least immediately...the only exception being the individuals that were whitelisted for testing OS builds including but not limited to WFC.

Maybe T-Mobile finally got Wi-Fi calling right with their last official release to work with future OS updates?

Does anyone know if WFC works on 10.2.1.3175?

Wow, must try it on my spare Z10. That would be fantastic if wi-fi calling continues to work on 10.3!

I can confirm that Wifi calling is still working. Sideloaded the Wifi Calling app and I am able to successfully change settings.

Also, when I am at the edge of my wifi network and on a call, the quality significantly drops and it tells me to get back within range. It is definitely working.

Yep I can also confirm that wi-fi calling works on 10.3.0.296 on a t - mobile Z10 and it works as expected.

However, the side loaded wifi calling app can only turn on or off the wi-fi calling as I am unable to choose cellular preferred or wi-fi only options. Those options are ghosted.

Why do you need to sideload it? It's available in BlackBerry World.

    You can download it.

    Wi-Fi Calling - BlackBerry World

    Posted via CB10
Not if you have 10.3 installed. It will not show up in search and a direct link to the app will show "unavailable for this device"....

Or at least that's what I thought.

Found out you have to FIRST turn on flash on your browser. Once set, BlackBerry world will let you download it.

I believe the critical and essential software for T-Mobile's WiFi Calling features are downloaded and installed during initial Network connection when one first connects to the T-Mo Cellular network with their Blackberry Device, after it has undergone a firmware upgrade.

Regrettably, being stranded in Canada, I cannot connect to T-Mo's Cellular network (instead I must roam on Rogers' network) and therefore cannot connect to T-Mo via Wifi - SO I am unable to use WiFi calling until/unless I go to the USA and re-initialize my Q10 while connected exclusively to T-Mo's own Cellular net.

I am expecting that I shall need to wait until a convenient time to visit the US, and do a re-install of the most recent OS. (THEN I am supposed to be able to use T-Mo's WiFi Calling internationally, including from Canada, without issue - until they again push a new OS update to me, anyway, when I will again by FUBAR. I had been using 10.1.0.4780 for ages without incident, flawlessly - until T-Mo shipped me 10.2.1 and broke Wifi calling!)

If anyone has a way to send me a copy of the files which are downloaded via T-Mo across their own network (carrier-specific files) I would be eternally grateful! (T-Mo and Blackberry both shrugged this off, apologizing for being 'unable' to help.)

It's NOT a simple case of installing the WiFi calling apps which are commonly available from appword, I have those files loaded and they will not function without the carrier-specific updates which can, it seems, ONLY be sourced directly from T-Mo, and then ONLY from their servers connected ONLY to their Cellular network. Bah.

Since you're in Toronto maybe a daytrip drive to the US side of Niagara Falls is the easiest and lowest cost way to get on TMO cell towers.

Yes, I plan to do that as soon as I can manage - and hopefully I will be able to make an image backup of the whole install, so I don't lose it whenever there's an OS update OTA!

I'm sorry, I got busy. But I think I will have time to do it later today (Friday) and I'll let you know.

I'm pretty optimistic that it will work based on other people's stories but I'll definitely take some screen shots and post what I find either way.

(Sigh) I supposed I will have to resort to this, but it's a major pain... and I imagine I will need to do the same every time I upgrade my OS!

Sorry this is late. But my results are as follows.

Updated Z10 to 10.3.0.296. I haven't added any bar files from the next leak up yet. If I do that and something changes I'll report back.

Wifi calling works great. Tested both voice and text with mobile network off.

Only change is in the Wifi calling software. You can enable it or disable it. The options for Wifi only or cellular preferred are not available. To me that isn't an issue. Basically if you have it turned on it is Wifi preferred so it will still work on mobile of its on. And you can always turn off your network radio if you want only Wifi.
