Rogers SIM isn't allowing me to upgrade 10.2 OTA on Verizon Z10. Is it the wrong carrier version SIM, GSM or CDMA?? My device is unlocked.

This is a long shot, but it could be because the radions and device models are completely different?

Rogers and Verizon has totally different radios. So I guess it won't work.

Yes Rogers is GSM; what happens if you switch to Wifi with the SIM still in and check for updates? I was under the impression that Verizon units can handle both CDMA, and GSM Sims for when roaming?

Probably why then. I did and had to use WiFi to connect cause without got only emergency calls only, it didn't work either. I didnt know for sure
if Rogers was GSM or not when I bought the SIM.

Terrible idea. If it even worked, I think your phone would be shot. You're lucky it's not working.

Rogers was GSM when you bought the SIM. Hence...the SIM.

The SIM card in your phone is only used to roam when you are outside the US. Within the US, unless things has changed, you are stuck on Verizon. So even if you put a different SIM in, it won't upgrade.

Remember CDMA phones has to be authorised to be on a network... so I think the only way you can upgrade beside the official from Verizon is by installing a leak.

Thanks, I thought if this was or have another CDMA carrier's SIM it would work. Looks like I'll have to use a leak, autoloader method.

You can install Rogers 10.2 OS on VZW Z10 using Sachesi....no problem, and works very well!

It is not possible to use "another CDMA carrier's SIM" because no CDMA carrier uses a SIM.

I know of that method, but have never used Sachesi. I've done autoloader however.

Verizon LTE phones have SIM cards for the LTE service. The CDMA portion of the phone handles voice, 2G and 3G data. For now, carriers cannot use LTE for voice. That's apparently coming soon but isn't implemented yet. So, having or not having a SIM card is not the logical test for CDMA or GSM due to the addition of the LTE radio.
