Definitely think there are bigger "fish to fry", than worrying about the "dark shadow background" for icons.
I don't mind them. I know with my particular background I'm using, the icon "shadows" actually help differentiate the icons, instead of them being hard to pick-out on the screen.
Does any 10.2 version allow you to compose emails in a different font? I don't like the current default font and am looking for something serif.
Thanks

Changing the default one or just changing it on the go? because I'm sure you can change it right on the go.
I'd say it looks dated no matter what and removing those boxes will just make it look more generic then it already is.
10.3 better bring a complete overhull of how BB10 looks.
I very much doubt they would do a complete overhaul of the OS as there are more important features people would like to see, plus it's less than a year old... Look at Apple's OS that was ancient until recent.
Curses, I was away from Android long enough that I missed a token reset and can't run it anymore. Before Blaq it was my favourite Twitter app, and I even bought the damn thing... =(
Have we really come to the point where having no gray boxes around our icons are what we start celebrating about? Jeeez. I guess when we get nothing from BB, just about ANYTHING is exciting to us.
There is so much potential for BlackBerry and yet they are continuously failing to execute, failing to set proper expectations and failure to communicate to their target market properly.
I'm a die hard BlackBerry loyalist but I haven't drank the kool aid and I hope those who have will consider a detox shake.
10.2 should have been what the Z10 LAUNCHED with, not an upgrade later. BlackBerry 10 is moving at a snails pace in a race they started off in last place.
I really love closing app using swipe up gesture, plan to implement it?
Naaa ... why should they, if simply removing a grey background already causes such excitement.
Why then implementing useful additions like gesture to close apps (like the Voice Control app), contact groups, simplified/instant app switching (without having to go to the Active Frames screen)? Too much work ...
I would like the gray boxes to be put to use, like make them glow when there is a new notification instead of using the spark. They could also act like a progress bar when downloading something in the browser or installing an app in app world. Can anyone tell me why they are there in the first place?
