Just got a notification at 07:08pm to download.
    372MB

Link messed up my backups and synchronised some garbage yesterday, so I'll download tomorrow, need to do a proper backup and sort through the mess first.

Swipe-down call screen, I'll be missing you...

    it's 10:48pm now... good nite....

    None, it still is 10.2.0.1791

Was trying to avoid the new call screen, my Z10 on Optus got early it in January with the rest of the world, but Telstra didn't join the party. So I was happy to have some time to say goodbye to the old swipe-down call screen. A unique piece of BB history. It will be missed.

Telstra is late with 10.2.1, but brought out 10.2 pretty early. Will update tomorrow after sorting out backup mess.

What I actually try to figure out is, whether the other carriers beside T-Mobile will roll out the newest version of 10.2.1 in terms of the declining battery life with 10.2.1.2102.

I was posting it in another thread but there wasn't any answer up to now!

I had a new Z10 on 10.0 in my hands yesterday, no SIM, but on wifi, and it wanted to update to a version beyond x.2102, it might have been 2228, if I am not all mistaken.

    Download was 1154MB

You're right the version I talk about is 10.2.1.2228.

My question is whether any carrier who did the upgrade to 10.2.1.2102 will push 10.2.1.2228 or they think .2102 is "enough" for them!

    You understand now?

Telstra is pretty conservative, they haven't delivered too many small updates after the big upgrades. I guess this will stick for a while.

I will try to take the SIM out tomorrow, and see whether my Telstra Q10 or my Optus Z10 will get a higher version, if they're on wifi without SIM. Could be lucky. Might also try BB Link.

Please check the other thread. This one is about Aussie and Telstra.

Both phones were bought outright, unlocked, no carrier branding and not bought from a carrier outlet (JB Hifi and Kogan).

received the update, was on the Optus official 10.2.1, which I think was 1790?

That version was full of bugs ; calendar would sometimes be missing row of icons to edit event, phone app was slow to respond to incoming calls and I would sometimes miss them, in the hub clicking on an item would darken the screen but then nothing would open, etc.

This new version is much more stable and so far so good. Battery life seems better as well, hopefully due to more efficient radio files specific to the Telstra network.

Btw, it was a 37mb update from the Optus official version to the latest Telstra official version.

APK direct installs, but that's under the hood. Quick menu settings, new call screen, peek and see battery percentage, etc.

    I absolutely recommend installing snap!

First I hesitated because i'm not that good with "technical things" such as sideloading and things like that.

But when I came across the crackberry "how to install snap" I realized how easy it is!

It looks nice as its native and you find a lot more than on amazon or 1mobile market!

    Go for it!

Both Telstra and Optus return 10.2.1.2102 through Sachesi.

    Thread necro...
sorry, but hey, that was close to a year ago and caused a similar frenzy on CB.

History repeating itself. Looks like a few less issues back then, if we believe those reporting about issues with the Passport (predominantly, but other phones, too - but hey, give them credit, and the majority of complaints will probably be valid, no offense).

    :-)

Nothing on Boost (PP), nor Optus (Z10) yet...

  "Telstra, Telstra an der Wand, wer ist der schoenste im ganzen Land...?" Answer: Passport... (Optus got it!) ;-)  
