So given the recent amazing news about APKs in 10.2.1.1055 I'm looking to upgrade from 10.2.0.1725. I've read that I shouldn't expect a 10.2.0.XXXX Blackberry Link backup to restore properly to 10.2.1.XXXX, but is there any way to prevent rebuilding from scratch, or should I just go through the standard process of:

    1. Backup using Link
    2. Run the new Autoloader
    3. Run a security wipe
    4. Set up all my settings, download BBWorld apps, and install sideloaded apps (APKs!!)

Also, is there a new version of Blackberry Link available to "officially" (I know it's still unofficial) support 10.2.1.XXXX, or will the existing version suffice once I rebuild all my settings from a clean 10.2.1 install?

This leak is far from the usual. It's a hybrid. Q10 OS + leaked radio. A wipe after the update seems to be a good idea just to jog the OS up.

Some people only managed to get the OS really working after that, while others...

Hmm, I wonder if I shouldn't wait for an "official" STL2/3/4 leak before trying this. Has there been any indication that a Q10-only leak will be the norm going forward, or was this just a one-off?

I just upgrade leaked to 10.2 and some of my contacts were missing as well as all of my music and pics. Is there a way to restore contacts and pics through BB Link after the upgrade? I am planning to upgrade to 10.2.1 after work today, but I'd like to have all that stuff back on my phone.

I always use sachies tool for backup and. Restore, and never had any missing contact nor a pic, , back up is easy using sachies, however when I restore, I first restore media then applications, then settings, if I try to restore them all at once it wont work,

Try sachies, its better than link and easier

@Jamal I've never been able to get Sachesi to work. Is there a good tutorial somewhere that lays out the procedures you follow to perform an upgrade using that instead of an autoloader?

At this point a non-destructive Sachesi upgrade isn't an option because the leak has not been released onto official production servers yet by any carrier... all we have are these autoloaders.

I also had issues with the backup/restore, but that was using an earlier pre v1 Sachesi version a few months ago.

What I did to upgrade to 10.2.1. And all other 10.2.xxxx

Back up using sachies ( its very easy, just plug ur phone, and click on back up)

    Run the autoloader,

After the install is done, I use sachies again

When clicking on restore, u chose the file u backed up first, and u click ok, , before u click on restore uncheck application and setting, and start with media, once its done, uncheck media, and do the same for application and setting

    Ur all done
