Folks,

I have recently upgraded from a Z10 to a Z30. I don't play/install many games or apps, but R-Type is my favourite slice of 1980s brilliance. It worked perfectly on my Z10. However, despite installing and launching fine on my Z30, none of the touch-screen controls work at all, i.e. you can't even select the 'Start' button in the centre of the screen. The menu music plays, and the game is definitely running. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, with no change. I upgraded the Z30 straight to 10.3.1, i.e. I never tested this with any official version of the OS on this phone.

Any ideas?

i hope someone who uses this can help you. Have you checked the sideloading threads for a better apk of the game?

Hmm, good idea, but R-Type is a paid game so not sure if the APK would/should be available on than through BlackBerry World, Google Play, etc. I will take a look though, thanks.

Now fixed: Downgraded my Z30 to release 10.2.1.3062 - the 10.3.1 leak was a little too glitchy for me. R-Type works perfectly on 10.2.1, and appears to be incompatible with the Android runtime on the current 10.3.1 leak.
