Fightin Words is not going to make it to BB10 and the BBOS version will be shut down. Cone on somebuddy needs to make a multiplayer scrabble game.

From the Fightin Words Facebook:

Hi Everyone,

I have some unfortunate news. We will be discontinuing Fightin' Words at some point in the future. There will be no Z10 or IPhone version.

This decision was made because we lose money on the app each month at this point because ad revenue is poor on the BlackBerry now. We have a prototype for the Z10, but it doesn't make monetary sense for us to sink the additional development costs into it when we will continue to lose money.

We hope you have enjoyed the game and appreciate your patronage. We will be watching the # of players (which has been in decline for awhile now) and will give you advance notice of when the servers will be shutdown.

As an avid player, and one who feels they did a great job, I'd like to encourage them to continue, but drop the ad revenue model and charge for the game. How much would you be willing to pay for it?

Sell tile swaps for .10 each, I'd buy those, sell them in 1.00 increments for in game use.

The one issue I have with this developer is that they focus on declining ad revenue from Blackberry. This is a cross platform game (they are on droid). To me it sounds like they aren't doing well on droid as well, revenue wise. So with these guys folding up soon has anyone tried porting over Scrabble?

Anyone who makes a good cross-platform scrabble-type game for 1.99 will clean up!
I still hope these guys will reconsider, as theirs was one of the nicest! Played smoother and better than WWF

See, here's what's really dumb. Blackberry should buy the prototype and the development license to complete the job for BB10. Seriously, BB has to realize it's getting clobbered by NOT having high-quality comparable apps. Wake up Thor, your fondleberries are getting soggy without the apps.
