Hey devs,

I wanted to point out a trick I use to play streaming radio on Dev Alpha but multitask in other apps or have backlight turn off while it keeps playing to save some battery.

If you use Web browser to load up a stream, for example on shoutcast.com, it will stop playing if you minimize the browser if it is the active tab. Also if your backlight turns off, it will also stop playing if you have it as your active tab.

The trick is open a new tab, even if empty, and switch to it in the browser... So the shoutcast.com stream is not active tab being displayed in the browser but still open . It will keep playing. But now you can minimize the browser or even let backlight time out so display is dark and your audio stream will continue to play indefinitely!!

Actually, I use this bug as a work-around for my webworks app so (hush) don't tell RIM about it.
