This is where I'm lost. I can't find that value after opening the apk as a zip and inspecting androidmanifest.xml

The problem is not the apk per se, it very well be the signing key that is used, so unless you can pull the actual Skype.bar , it will not work

Someone said that you can sniff out the url IF you have the actual Q10 or can download on a dev device. I personally don't know how to do this.

I suspect the way to do it is through the dev computer emulator/sdk. I think there's something in there that lets you bypass certain requirements, just like how blaze managed to do it with instagram

It's the runtime. Someone try to get the Q10 Dev C 10.1 runtime and all should be solved

So im thinking they decompiled the apk with a program called apktool, edited the androidmanifest.xml changed the minversion/sdk etc.. then recompiled it and packaged it. lol if anyone wants to try this, they are more than welcomed but here is where i've hit a wall.

I don't understand why anyone who has this particular file is afraid to post it. Leaks of entire operating systems are posted as front page news on CB, but posting a leak of the Skype app is going too far? I don't understand the logic of drawing that line.

That's because Microsoft is involved. It was hard enough getting them on board with Skype support as it is.

Additionally the Os leak is different because it used the dev auto loader publicly made available for release. Also they used common tools.

The Skype app is different because insider tools not available to the public at large were used. This is my understanding of the situation. Please lurk more.

They could at least post a tutorial, for people to do on their own.

Not related with Developer devices or developing at all.

    Please some moderator move this.

    Thanks.

The tutorial will probably involve resources that are secret. So that's my guess.
