I have a couple of BlackBerry PlayBook chargers and have been using them to charge my Z30 but someone told me it could harm my phone. Is this true. The reason I use it is because it charges in at least half the time of the charger that came with my Z30.

I've actually been using it on all my phones since the PlayBook came out and have never had a problem. Bold Q10 Z10 and now the Z30.

I use my PlayBook charger too. I have not noticed a problem in the short term. I guess your question is about the long term, so I will wait and see what others say.

It may shorten the life of the integrated battery in z30. In general, faster charging causes more battery heat up and will shorten the life of the battery. Slower charging is better in terms of the battery life. I would use the built in charger or even a slower charger for overnight charging, e.g.
