I have a feeling it will be a different colored Z10 with an engraving...no special designs.
Likely the colt with final hardware aka DEV ALPHA A.
This has been discussed a bit on This thread, but i`ll put it here as its very relevant. Alec Saunders stated we will either be shown it on the 30th at the launch event or at BBJam Amsterdam the following week.
From the way it sounded it expect it at BBJam as a) doesnt detract from BB10 launch (why have the press write about something nobody can get when they can write about BB10) and b) BBJam is a developer event. so it ties in nicely.
As for what it looks like? havent the foggiest, but everyone iv spoken to at RIM about it all say `i want one` so take that how you wish lol.
That would be awesome if it turns out to be true. In my opinion, the Dev Alpha A is by far the best looking full touch screen BlackBerry device there has ever been. Dev Alpha B and the Z10 look like rubbish next to it. Sadly, I doubt we will get that lucky.
I think it will look... maybe a bit special?
Or limited?
I just have a feeling! ;)
i reckon it will be a normal z10 (possibly a different colour) but with an engraving
This is exactly what I'm expecting, as well as what was hinted by Alec Saunders AND to top it all off, if you happen to need a replacement LE device RIM will replace it with an L-Series device as mentioned in the End User License Agreement
Perhaps you just get back your Dev Alpha back after it has been "adjusted" not to brick by the end date and with the final OS installed.
Here it is:

I asked Alec about that a while back, he said no, we will be getting a brand new phone. The Dev Alphas are not coming back to us.
lol, no, that is the crystal dev alpha that was given out to a lucky dev this weekend at the portathon. It's not a real phone. Though that is definitely a very interest desk decoration. Great conversation starter.
Isn't it a "blackberry coloured " unit ? Purple?
Interested in this so I can order a case/screen guard. I kinda hope it is just a standard phone with a different skin.
Limited edition confirmed as a red z10.
Oh yeah?...
By who?
Why are you all assuming it will be the Z10? I mean there are 6 devices to be released by them, not to mention Alec Saunders said this is a limited production device with a special engraving meant for us developers. Seems hardly limited if all they did was put a red casing around it, don't you think? I would think RIM would make it special, just like how bb10 will be!
Sorry to disappoint.
It will be a Z10, just "unlocked" or not carrier specific or something of that sort. At least that's what I was told.
a red z10 would be pretty damn cool...id rock it
**** yeah I'll take a red Z10!
Not if you're still with Verizon.:crying:
yeah true, how they miss that up!
A sleek red LE device would be awesome... I am not with Verizon but I think I would switch Carriers or simply ask them to send me the red device anyways.
ok, so heres my question, why would verizon not let a (albeit red or whatever) Z10 on their network when they are approved devices?
dont wanna get peoples hopes up or anything, i just think if it was only a colour change verizon would be like `yea we have tested this so is cool` as im sure they dont seperately QA phones based on their colour lol. anyways, give it a week and we`ll know hopefully at BBJam :)
Verizon is getting Z10's. Only they ordered black and white. They could have ordered red but for some reason they chose not to at the moment. I'm sure if there's demand it won't be too hard for them to place an order.
