    Hello,

not sure if this is the proper forum, but i couldn't find any other more suitable.

I'm having problems downloading offline maps in the GPServices patched Google maps (latest version, but it was happening with all recent versions). The download repeatedly stops stating "Couldn't download" and when i hit "update" it downloads another few procents until it reaches certain point, where it won't download anything anymore. I recently did a wipe and there is more than enough free space on the device.

Do you please have any idea what might be the cause?

    Thank you

    JD

I have the same problem. I've tried various patched apk versions that are supposed to allow Offline Map Downloads. When I try to DL and offline map, the progress gets to a few % and then stops. Resuming will get a few more percent (or not) and then fail again. I once kept pressing "resume" until I was blue in the face just to see if it would ever make it to 100 %. I got to about 50% and it would not go any higher. My guess is that it just won't work on a patched APK on BB10. Maybe Cobalt has an opinion on this. Btw, I'm using a z30

I'm curious if there is anybody out there with a BB10 phone and who was able to use this feature successfully.

Older versions of maps should work-- 6.x-7.x if memory serves.

Same problem on my Z30 using Google Maps 1.9.6410.123 (v.9 ?) downloaded from Google Play. Blackberry OS v.10.3.3.1463. I'll try loading Google Maps APK 7.x, if I can find it.

UPDATE: Downloaded Google Maps 7.6 APK from Android Police/Mediafire http://www.mediafire.com/file/0tmha2....6.0_API18.apk . Loaded via Blackberry Link/Blend and installed OK. Tried to find the offline maps feature but it appears not to exist in this version.

Having already tried Waze and not found an offline option, I researched further for offline map options and found MAPS.ME had good reviews (https://maps.me/). It's available via Blackberry World so I went that route. Loaded it up fine and downloaded a few maps for my region. Set a course to a local breakfast joint but I question the route that was chosen. It does not appear to be the most direct. I will be validating the sophistication and accuracy of the navigation as I move forward using this app.
