BlackBerry Link was working until the latest Windows 10 update. Anyone know what happened and how to fix it?
You have been fortunate it lasted this long....
There are number of things to try, you can search for them.
For some, uninstalling, removing all traces of BlackBerry or RIM from your registry, reboot PC. Disable all utilities like Virus and Malware scanners, download latest version of BLEND (Includes LINK, BLEND, DRIVERS - from three years ago) and reinstall.
Yep, every major update Windows 10 had broke Link for me every time.
Uninstalling and reinstalling made it work again - every time.
Until sometime late last year when something happened that messed up file access to my device memory and SD card. I could still connect to the phone (a Z10 in my case), even run a backup and restore. But drive access with the Windows file Explorer no longer worked. No Y and Z drives. Changing the SD card to mass storage mode would make the SD card show up as a removable drive, but that's all I have direct access to. Without the Link drivers giving me network access to internal memory, I have no way to do file transfers from internal memory. Wi-fi won't connect either.
However, Sachesi and DBBT can also still connect and do OS blitzes. Even autoloaders still work - ran the last OS release a few weeks back. I just can't do direct file transfers or access the internal memory. The workaround is to copy from internal to SD using the phone's file manager and then access the SD card on a PC in mass storage mode. Kind of a pain.
But, the Z10 is no longer in full-time service anyway, so I can deal.
