The price of having a keyboard... It completely changes the screen layout. Some developers have time and money to rework their app for a 720*720 screen, but most don't...

Many apps are just ports of Android apps, which are designed for rectangular screens. Few devs have re-coded their apps for the square screen on the Q-series devices, as this layout isn't used on any other devices, and for many apps, it would take a lot of design work to make it Q-compatible.

That is, indeed, the cost of going with the traditional BB hardware keyboard format (it wouldn't have been an issue with a slider, of course).

Z10 was out first, so naturally it would have more apps. I'm sure most apps that are z10 only will come to the Q series and most new apps will more than likely be made for both z and q out the gate.

That REALLY depends on the sales. There will likely be so much work involved with changing from a 720p resolution to a 720*720 resolution, that many devs won't bother even if the Q10 outsells the Z10.

Heck, just look at Android. There are way more Android tablets out there than there are BB10 phones, and the vast majority of developers still can't be bothered with making tablet-specific versions of their app.

ikr? can't you just wait until BB starts coming out with even more different models, putting themselves in the same situation they were trying to get out of, lul... It's mind boggling tbqh. Make 1 phone, you can't handle more then one thing at a time BB. kthx

Some games are just not meant to be played using a square screen. The Q10 wasn't build for gaming. Same goes for the Q5

Yay for the Z10.

And keyboard lovers are mostly business users who don't care about apps to begin with. If you love apps and games then come over to the Z10.

Sales and popularity, Z10 has (or should have) more sales than Q10 at the moment.

Most games would look weird on the Q10, crappy android ports and spam apps don't really care(there are a lot of these), all you have left are good apps and there are good apps that could be too hard to redesign to fit the Q's screen, so you have:

number of apps in BBW-(most games+crappy android ports+spam apps+good apps that are hard to redesign)

IMO.
