Because it isn't recommended by blackberry. Installing android files is meant for developer purposes.

Right that's why android apps are posted on BBW ? ... no that's not why... it's because BlackBerry wants people to download off BBW and not their competitors store...

And yes you need a computer to install Snap. But it's a one time installation once done you are set and never need to use a computer again to install android apps. Otherwise you can install apps using the amazon app store or aptoid.

What good would Snap be in BBW? You can't install it directly and require a PC to sideload it.

Well if snap were a BB10 app it should install the same as any other?

And it's not competition that it isn't in the store. It isn't there as it isn't something they can promote.

If the developer renamed it "App for Google Play" it would get BlackBerry World approval for sure.

It's not in BBW because it isn't some scam software that does nothing. It's not misleading. Oh and it works.

If it did nothing but take up space and take your money it would be there for sure.

I think the dev should also make a apk file of the app. That way the folks without a computer could easily install it.

It's not there because it hasn't been approved by BlackBerry or it hasn't been submitted by the developers of the app. Just use a computer to sideload it.

It would be, but BlackBerry hasn't made that possible, and I believe piracy is one of the reasons why. For now, there is an alternative method if you find yourself without a PC, and you have two BB10 devices or a BB10 and a legacy BB or a BB10 and a PlayBook. Find out about that here BarInstall Native App (Like Localbar for PlayBook)

I believe BlackBerry is not that dumb.
If they wanted it there, Amazon and 1mobile would have gotten there first.

Well if they can't add it to the BlackBerry World they could at least make it so updates are from within the app itself once loaded like the amazon store does.

Snap isn't in BlackBerry World for one simple reason: it violates Google's Terms of Service.

The only devices that are supposed to be attaching to Google Play are ones that Google has approved as Play Services Certified.

BlackBerry has not sought this certification, because Google is not likely to grant it.

BTW, Kindle Fire and Nokia X are in exactly the same position.

I think SNAP is supposed to come out with the new 10.3 build but they have to wait until they fix the PIN watermark glitch as I feel it is a security concern.
