I can't tell. Have you tried logging into your BBID using your computer.

Have you tried uninstalling PTG from your computer and then reboot and download it from BlackBerry again?

Also, if you get it installed and connected again, there is an issue with a security update on Windows 7 that prevents the file from moving from the PC to the phone. I don't know what you are running on your computer, but if I find that other thread, I'll post the link again.

You can influence this process by selectively enabling or disabling the setting on the client side. In Internet Explorer the settings are located in Internet Options | Advanced. Scroll down to the Security section to find the various checkboxes to enable or disable the protocols. Enable ssl 2.0 there.

that doesn't solve the problem for me: I have two windows 8.1 64 bit computers and PTG works on one not on the other and an hour spent on the phone with BlackBerry tech support did not bear fruit.

Supposedly a windows update in mid November changed the way some network packets are "cleaned" and broke the communication between PTG on Windows and the server "ptg.blackberry.com" and the only way to make it work is to uninstall the serious security fix, which is unadvisable... so it's supposedly broken at the network level and unless Blackberry fixes it, there isn't much we can do ourselves.
