Today, Whatsapp Voice Notes have gone haywire on my Z10. When I click on the play button next to the voice note it will not play. It will close the application and take me to my home Screen. I rebooted and could listen to the messages I had already received, but new messages are not able to be played unless I reboot again.

Any ideas?

If the app closes when you try to play, it most likely crashed. Since we have no automated way of actually capturing useful information when this happens, please follow these instructions to send us data so we can try to debug it:

Got it. Thanks for sending in the core file. I now know exactly what's causing the crash, and should be able to fix it before our next update.

Can't give a timeframe, but I do have a suggestion until our next release.

There's been a lot of talk lately about people having problems with the sensors on their phones, and several blog/forum posts here about it. Try seeing if you're having problems with your proximity sensor working, and if there's any way of resolving them.

This bug happens when we we can't "start" the proximity sensor on voice message playback, so fixing that may let you ignore the bug for the time being.
