After upgrading to 2.10.9455, I found a notification sound is always generated from a whatsapp group's message even I am in vibrate only on my Z10STL100-2/10.1.0.2354.

Is it a known issue? Many thanks.

SAME here! I have OS 10.1.0.1880, and I ALWAYS have my device on silent, but still the sounds come through. Well, I guess time to delete WhatsApp. Everyone should use BBM anyway! - LOL

...anyone else with the same issue?

I posted a review online, and emailed support, too.

I had this with a previous version of whatsapp. Just set the notifications for whatsapp to "on" in the settings. Then reboot your device. After rebooting, set your profile to silent. Whatsapp should not make a sound anymore if your profile is on silent.

I just wanted to comment on this, since its not technically a problem we have any direct control over.

On OS versions where we're using hub integration (10.1.0.16xx and newer), notifications work through a special connection between the hub and the notification service that knows about our app. In some cases, such as a delete-and-reinstall of our app, this connection may be broken, causing the system to fall back to the default notification settings whenever our app posts an update. The solution is to reboot your device, after which things should be working correctly again.

(This should be fixed in a future version of 10.1.0.x, but it is out of our control so we cannot commit to anything there or comment further.)

Good to know that you are aware of this issue at least. I myself sent an email to support about this issue, but no one got back to me Hopefully it is fixed in a future update, although there is a workaround. Thanks for clarifying.

My issue is that it keeps defaulted back to the essential ring tone instead of what I selected.

...this new version seems to have fixed the sound issue even while the device is on silent.
