I really like the in app media player! They really need to add this to bbm channels! The video link as of now opens up the web browser which just makes the entire process a little cumbersome

What's really annoying is that Whatsapp has an open beta while BBM doesn't! WHY?!!! We own a freaking BlackBerry!! At least let us be a part of the beta app made by the company we support!

As 1 of original 5 people of project Wazapp and OpenWhatsapp I will now take a long hard look inside and outside Whatsapp for BlackBerry10. So far developer has done outstanding work.

Say what you will but WhatsApp supports all platforms better than Blackberry supports their BBM. And it's also a native app.

IMHO, my position regarding Viber changed when they just delivered us an Android port despite the promises they made (which can be done by anyone under 10 mins who reads instructions). I feel that WhatsApp is kind of under-appreciated when they gave time to develop an actual Native app. This is why I respect them more now

Of course, I still stick with BBM for my communications but once WhatsApp implements Voice on their apps (hopefully), I would look to encourage people to switch to BBM (primarily) and then WhatsApp rather than Viber.

Ive recommend BBM in a big way. Made all 30 people in my whatsapp group download BBM.

All have revered back to whatsapp because 2 super simple basic run off the mill features are missing.

1. On iOS and android there's no group mute. So there's no way to shut our talkative 30 person strong group who chat all day and night. Great going there BBM. The only way is to turn off notifications for the whole app rendering it useless. It's fkin stupid.

Cause you can just turn off BBM groups and keep BBM notifications on eh.

BBM on blackberry 10 does allow individual group mute but without the preset time.

On iOS and android there's no mute for groups whatsoever. Either mute the entire app or nothing.

It does install the update it just for some reason doesn't get rid of the update notification on beta zone app,looks like a bug.

If by "beta testers," you are referring to the people we had in our closed sandbox beta prior to yesterday, then the answer is presently yes. We actually updated the sandbox version they see shortly after posting to Beta Zone. However, once Beta Zone has proven itself sufficiently reliable, we plan to completely discontinue those sandbox betas except where necessary. They are cumbersome to manage, and have no good update-check mechanism, and were really just a stop-gap measure while we waited for Beta Zone to become available to us.

So from now on, consider Beta Zone to be our "official" beta mechanism.

What country are you in? Beta Zone does have a fairly long list of supported countries, but if we have users in places supported by BlackBerry World (but not Beta Zone), we'd like to know.

Love whatsapp. Blows bbm out of the water for group chats (my primary use of whatsapp). And love the dedication to continually keep improving it. Cheers guys!

It's a shame BlackBerry didn't acquire WhatsApp early on (way before they were valued at several times that of BlackBerry... lol), and roll their apparently excellent dev resources into cross platform BBM.

I'm in Turkey. I used to be able to download apps for my OS 7 legacy device from the beta zone.

Is there a list of supported countries where I can see if Turkey is not supported?
