Well Good News, But Even Amazon Needs to Expand Its App Store

Just 2 days ago , some good news for BlackBerry users came across that BB 10.3 will sport an Amazon Appstore which adds over a 240,000 more apps to BlackBerry World (in total near a 400,000 essential apps) and based on Inside Blackberry "Amazon Appstore running as a native BlackBerry app, with a greatly simplified interface and streamlined user experience" (inside blackberry blog) . But as it seems even Amazon is missing some key applications such as Instagram , and maybe for somebody Facebook Messenger and Telegram (even BBM is not out there , although BB doesn't need it but only as a matter of fact) . BlackBerry is very fortunate to have those 240,000 apps but what would really happen to some popular ones like Instagram and Facebook Messenger ?!

It won't actually add the apps to BlackBerry World, it will be a separate app store.

So One icon for BlackBerry World and one for Amazon App Store.

That's all on the devs if they want their apps in that store and what they have to do code them to get them in there.

If amazon get enough users then yeah sure :) but at the minute they have key apps missing for the same reason BB do.

The Big Picture

Amazon app store will SOON have loads of the big name apps including instagram, tumbler, etc.

Its easy to see why, its a supremely powerful USA based company and NOW they are producing smartphones.

I'm not sure that's true. The indication is that it will be a unified but partitioned app from what I've read.

Even then, it would still be a separate Amazon App Store (For BlackBerry) App.

And BlackBerry World would still be there on its own.

That's the way I've read into it anyway, maybe I'm wrong...

I thought that initially too, but someone on one of the other threads found a bit where BlackBerry said it was to be within a single app. Sooooo many Amazon/Blackberry threads on here it's impossible to find the post in question!
