Why would you use it if there is a Native GPS with TOM TOM coming to BB10?

Because native GPS with TOMTOM doesn't have the community edited updates like Waze does. Checkpoints, detours, accidents, traffic jams, downed signal lights, gas prices, noteworthy events, etc...

Waze was workin perfect on my 9860.... But when I upgraded to 7.1 I lost the voice turn by turn and all audible sounds for Waze. If you have 7.1 and you have the voice and sounds let me know and maybe I'll do a re-install

I'm hopin they do support BB10 and that the app would be on par with the iOS app which is awesome!!!

Yep best voice turn by turn app I've seen. Works great on my BB6. I would pay for it on BB10.

I imagine ATT will block the Tom Tom feature in favor of their own pay feature.

There have been several threads on here about waze. About a month ago I wrote to waze's public relations guy asking about their support for BB10. Never heard back...so I guess that's the answer. Maybe they'll reconsider if BB10 catches on. It's a great app. Blows everything else out of the water.

What gets me the most is this statement...
The Waze mapping app is for both the iPhone and Android.
Not mentioning that it is currently available for BlackBerry devices...
I'm seeing this more and more online, in print, and on television. Disappointing.
Please let this New Year be RIM's year!!!!

Regrettable. Waze is one of my favorite apps. I hope the TomTom thing is as good or better and that ATT doesn't block it. BB maps is great on my OS6 so they have a good foundation to work from.

Well good for Waze if they sell. Those developers made quality app. They deserve a payout. Hopefully, there's not a non-compete clause and they can turn around and make a new BB app just for us.

They have one. Even though their main page says that they support iPhone & Android. If you go to m.waze.com or their DL page you will see they also support windows, symbian, & BB

Oh wow, that's better than BlackBerry Traffic.
I wouldnt go that far. BB Traffic is better in what it supplies, the problem is that it's incomplete. It does not have a map solution & waze does a great job filling that. If you didn't use waze's map, BB Traffic would be better. That's why im looking forward to BB Navigator which hopefully will combine TomTom, Gokivo, & BB Traffic into a great app.

As much as I love BB Traffic, waze also offers the immediate input from its members as well. You can join local groups and keep each other informed of very specific, local road conditions long before they get reported through BB Traffic (if at all). This social networking would be an invaluable addition to BB Traffic (sort of a BB Traffic/BBM mash-up) but, unless RIM makes it cross-platform, there aren't enough BB Traffic users in North America to make it worthwhile. Too bad RIM isn't the one rumored to be buying waze...
