    Video Shrinker

    Resize and share smaller videos

Three simple steps to resize your videos and facilitate their sharing.
The more you pick a low resolution, the more quality decreases, but the resulting size in Mb will be smaller and you will be able to share it easily.

    Available output resolutions are 480p, 240p, 144p, 72p and a really small 36p.
Resizing process is time comsuming. For example a minute of HD video resized to 240p, will take about 4 minutes. Resized to 144p will take about 2 minutes but the resulting size will be about 1/30 of the original.

Price: This is a freemium app that let you resize video and see it. The option to save the video on your phone is disabled on the free version. You can watch the resized video without the option to save it on phone. The full version is 1.99$

Good luck with your app. It is much easier for people if you provide a link

It doesn't work with the latest 10.2.1 leak and I even paid for it. It can't even find any of my videos to shrink them.

Leaked OSes are known as not yet OS stable releases. Maybe a reboot or an app reinstallation can help.
I tested on a leaked 10.2.1.1055 and it works.

I've tried everything and it plays but will not shrink my videos. I even deleted and Re installed it. It keeps telling me that I haven't paid for the app. But I did. I even tried to buy it again but the app says I ready paid for it??

Please tell me what's happens when you hit the shrink button. If something goes wrong, like a video format is not recognized or other incompatibilities, the app should rise an error. Which codecs does the video you are tring to shrink uses ? Is it a video taken with your phone ?
Feel free to email me if you wish, we will try to resolve the problem (you can find my email in the About menu).
Also, if you reinstalled the app and try to gain your rights to use the purchased version, just hit the "Purchase" entry in the right menu and choose "Already purchased" option.

I cannot see any of the videos on my SD card. I can see videos on my link to my PC and I can open the video. They are .3GP format and I hit the "shrink" button to shrink and it does it right away, no matter how big the video BUT the shrinked video is zero bytes in size!! Looks like I finally got past the paid for glitch as I can share it but the shared file is 0bytes in size. I have a Z30 and am running the latest 10.2.1 link (1055).

    Any advice?

    Jim

I have to say that I didn't tried with 3gp video, I will, but I dubt that 3gp format could be the proble. More probably is the leaked OS version you have.
By the fact you can't see any videos on sd card I think something is wrong with the installed OS.
I seen your email now, lets continue there

Marco, thanks for helping me resolve this via email. My bad! I was looking in the wrong place on the SD card as the Z30 stores videos in the blackberry folder on the card in the camera subfolder. Everything works perfectly and I'm giving this app a five star review now. Jim

    Hi,
I sent you an email asking for help.
I'm working on a Vine application and got stuck on video resize. Current video resolution is 720x720 and server only accepts 480x480 aka 480p.
I tried your app and it works perfectly, already upgraded and paid too.

Anyways, to be clear, I'm not asking for your code. I'm asking for your help, advice how/what libraries did you use and how do you approach the resampling problem if H264 is used in MP4.

Please, drop me an email back or reply in Whine thread or here.

I just downloaded and payed for this app and all up it looks very simple and good. Just one problem though, when I get the original estimate of what size it will shrink my file to it is about 1/4 of the size it actually shrinks it to. I have attached a photo to show you what I mean, it estimated it would shrink it to 3.59mb when in actual fact it shrank it to 12.09mb.When I need it to be under 6mb to send by BBM It's a bit of a pain. Perhaps I am looking at it the wrong way but any advice would be good.

Is it not the basis of an 'estimate'? I sometimes have an estimate that is higher than what I actually end up with.

pepa1, I am working on targeting the output on a more accurate size. Meanwhile you can try with 144p. I know that you expected a 3 or 4 times less, but the final size can't be calculated exactly till the conversion is done
    thanks
