I wonder if when the update for the installed app arrives and its size shown as, let's say, 10 MB, will this update replace the existing app in terms of the memory required or the 10MB will be added to the existing memory used by this app? I am afraid to run out of memory so I have to be selective when updating installed apps. Thanks.

It should replace the executable files of the app, but not its database or other saved data.
