So I am picking up my 2014 Jeep Cherokee today with uConnect 8.4. To my knowledge it is powered by QNX. I was sad to see there is no uconnect app in bb world. WTF?! Does anyone know if it is in the works? Can I sideload the andriod app? Would love to have remote start and unlock via my z10.

Well, even uConnect says they have no mobile apps lol... but they do... so I don't think they're all that organized when it comes to making apps but hey, give the Android app a try.

I can confirm that a sideloaded uConnect app works on my z10. Great app to have for anyone with a compatible dodge, chrylser or jeep. Gives you the ability to remote start, lock , and honk horn from your phone's internet connection (not bluetooth). Service is required on the vehicle.

So, how do u like the new Cherokee? I'm trying to hook up my Pandora account to the Jeep and discovered that there is no app on my Z10 for via mobile. Being old, slow and new to this stuff I need some help, especially with things like .bar files? I found the tutorial for side loading android apps but the terminology is a little confusing.

    Be gentle,
If you have the newer OS, 10.2.1.1925 or newer, you can directly visit the google store and download and then install Android apps directly. No bar file conversion necessary.

I am also seriously looking at the Cherokee. Any idea if there is a way to display emails (as opposed to just text messages) from the BB to uconnect?

On a side note, how do you like the Cherokee?

On an unrelated note, you can't really call a Cherokee a Jeep anymore...

While I know the design of the Cherokee is somewhat avantgarde, why would you question that it is a Jeep?

Can you explain, please, what it means sideload uConnect? I just bought a new 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited. I own a Blackberry Z10 and I would love to use the uConnect system, but Blackberry (who is notoriously App-poor) does not have uConnect among its Apps. Any direction you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    1. Go to settings -> app manager-> installing apps, and set "allow apps to be installed from other sources" to on. (photo attached)

    2. Go to the link below, and click "install".

    3. Save the apk when it prompts you to.

    4. Once the download completes, open the file you just downloaded, and click install.
