    Since the last update I have two whatsapp icons in the HUB. Uninstall and reinstall does not remove the extra icon. Very annoying and not sure what is causing this anyone else with the same issue?

    Did you try removing the app from the device, rebooting it (hold the top buttom and ignore the screen prompts. Hold it till you see the BlackBerry loading bar again)?

    Yes, did that. I still have two whatsapp icons... see the screenshot below. How is not even possible to have one - let alone two - icons in the HUB if the application is not even installed?

    The app is gone but there is clearly something left in the device. Try this:

    Files > Device Memory > Misc and delete the whatsapp folder, then reboot by holding both volume rockers - same drill.

    I found the solution to be:

    First create a new backup using Whatsapp.

    Plug in phone to pc and copy all those backups from phone under device/misc/whatapp in to your computet.

    Delete all but the latest backup in phone.

    Delete whatsapp on phone.

    Restart.

    Install whatsapp again. It should detect your latest backup and you'll be ready to go.

    You might have used a secound SIM-Card in your device, so the OS created a new What'sApp Icon in the Hub... What'sApp is "number" related.. so using 2 SIMs i.e. 2 phone numbers, you get 2 What'sApp accounts... BBM stays the same coz it's "device-related"!
    Did you insert a "foreign SIM" to do the update from another provider? Did you look into what'sApp using the other SIM?

    Dude, charge that phone... Letting li-on batteries drain to 0 damages them and lowers the battery life of the unit.

    I did insert a Vodafone sim card, but that was weeks ago. And I never initiated a new number with whatsapp...

    Both icons have the same chat history so it doesn't seems like they are related to different phone numbers...

    Good point. Was just finishing off my day, and at that time the battery is normally close to zero.

    Thanks

    I got rid of the duplicate by deleting Whatsapp instead of just uninstalling.
    Since I reinstalled, all is well.

    Tried all of the above. No solution. Not sure what to do anymore. There have been so many issues with whatsapp...

    HAHA! I got it too!!

    EDIT:

    1. Deleted /device/misc/whatsapp;
    2. Deleted Whatsapp;
    3. rebooted by holding the top buttom;
    4. Installed whatsapp

    So if you are saying my suggestion on post #4 doesn't work... I just proved it does.

    I tried all the suggestions in this forum, but it failed to work.

    I deleted my WhatsApp account from within the app and it finally worked.

    Steps.
    1.Delete Account from within the app.
    2. Delete app itself.
    3. Check the hub first. Reboot if still in the Hub.
    4. Reinstall the app.

    Problem fixed!
