Used it at Pape station location in Toronto.
I had to reposition it a bit before it worked.

It was just as fast as using Mastercard paypass.
The cashier didn't seem to notice.

You shouldn't have to, I didn't. I am using the flip case for my Z10.

Did you position your phone horizontally or vertically? I tried this morning at Davenport Road Waterloo location and the waitress knew about it but I was the first she had seen. She entered Tim card - machine showed tap or swipe - tried everything but smack it and it didn't work.

Will come in handy when I visit

Dowloaded the app but haven't used it yet. Until now there has been no real advantage for me to carry a Tim card, thus I need to get one before I can use it. Cant wait though!

Here's a couple answers to some of the questions in this thread:
-Every store is compatible with NFC Tim Card payments
-The limit is the same as the physical Tim Card, $100
-You must have the app open and in the tap to pay screen for it to work
-Every BB10 device is compatible (Q5,Q10,Z10,Z30) on all carriers
-Tell them you're paying with Tim Card
-Tap the back of the phone and not the front
-Touch the Pay Now button and tap when the animation appears
    - If it doesn't work, click back and try again

    Hope this helps

I'm in Timmy's now and want to test it...what/where is the nfc device on the counter? is it just the credit card reader?
I will assume the app turns on NFC in the phone...mmmK!

It's the card reader! Same for credit card. Mention you pay with timmy card though

There is a small bug in the app: when you move to a no signal zone, the app will still try to retrieve your timmy card info and it will be stuck there. So not very useful when you go to a Timmy in a metro station.

The work around is to put it into flight mode and start the app.

    Kewl! It was daBomb :-)
At first, app showed an error...as I went to retry, the credit card device displayed payment complete and spat out the hard copy.

Manager said he had just hard about this method day before and was stoked to see it get used. He did say it's a pity BlackBerry is going bust :-(

As I left, I could hear him telling his minions about what I just did...a teachable moment at Timmy's in Burnaby, BC.

I had a similar issue but was able to prevent that from happening.

When you log into the app on the tim card page and it asks you to enter your username and password, make sure to tap the "Remember Me" check box and the next time you open up the timcard screen it won't try to connect to the internet to retrieve tim card info.
When you tap the screen it'll try to update balance and fail, but thats fine since the tap is only sending your tim card number to be used to take the payment. When you connect to the internet later, the TimmyMe app will update the balance in your app.

I don't think the phone position matters as long as your close enough to the machine with your phone. I did have to try it twice. I first placed it on the card reader and it didn't do anything, so I lifted it up and away, then placed it on the machine again.

But once you can get your credit card on there (rogers/cibc already has it), then there is a huge benefit.
I can see the benefit of the credit card payment using the phone. I have Rogers and I have a CIBC credit card and for some reason my Blackberry Q10 shows up as being non-compatible carrier when I try to download the CIBC Mobile Payment App even though my Rogers SIM is inside and I have a data plan.

Did you get a special secured SIM from rogers (or whatever they call it)? After getting that SIM, you'll need to call CIBC and activate the service.

I have Bell but one of my friend did it and it wasn't pretty straight forward after you get that special SIM.
