Unfortunately they approved them...for sure to bump the statistics, because even with those scam apps, because as we all know, we are still low in term of *number* of apps (unfortunately, in that case, quality wasn't the BlackBerry's priority).

I too personally would love to see less apps and better quality, but that isn't a good enough selling point
(hence the Android runtime "dependency"...)

Is anyone even minding the BlackBerry store? Whatever happened to the "Standards" they were recently announcing? I was thinking the other day that I rarely browse BW and mostly go by mentions on CB. But as pointed out, we are the exception, and hopefully there are a lot more casual users out there (not to mention kids) that should be able to trust BW.

Are you kidding =)) I'd rather see S4BB flood the app store that these guys. At least they make legitimate and helpful apps (despite the app Spam). Plus some of them are in Built for BlackBerry status.

I have noticed that pretty much ever since BB10 was released. Major facepalm material.

Luckily for me I suppose, my expectations of the intelligence of the masses are probably lower than yours.

Now let's talk about how developers seem to be able to erase any review that they don't like.

I'm not sure which is worse.

Whoever runs BlackBerry World or at least makes those kinds of strategic decisions (could very well be top management) should be thrown in the slammer for blatant fraud.

Trust me they know.
They choose to ignore it as it gives an impression of many apps which is what they wish to showcase, be these good or bad they don't care.
Sometimes I wish they were like Apple, ensuring more diligence of their App store so that it is more about quality and consumer protection.

The problem is if you search for say Netflix on Android.... Netflix will be the top result and then a bunch of Netflix scam apps.

In BlackBerry World, you search for Netflix... all you get is scam apps.

Don't understand how legitimate app developers have problems getting apps approved... and all this trash is allowed in.

I see this nonsense since Monday (Z3 announcement day) in many categories. I think they have some glitch in BlackBerry World because such a huge change just over night is impossible. All apps that were in Top selling/grossing are now gone and only scam and cheap knock off in those categories. If they start delivering Z3 with this (cr)app list in place...
