Any news on that one? Since all my friends have moved to telegram, I keep losing touch with them.... both of them!

I'm looking forward to this. This app is a must have, so I would pay for it a small money.

Are there any news on this?

Yesterday I played a bit with the official Telegram from the Android market.
It is working well on my Q10, it must be of course kept running in ordeer to receive notifications but I want to mention that the battery drain was massive, I only kept it running 4 hours and it managed to become the number 1 battery drainer with over 20%

I am hoping the native app will be much easier on the battery so please try and see if you can find some tweaks in this direction.
If you need beta testers you know you can find us here, I would love to help.

In the mean time I am contributing to translating it in my language, I hope Telegrann will use the Transifex translations like the android app.

The native Telegram on Android nexus5 is simply awesome. Minimal battery usage.... as much as SMS usage. Telegram is extremely impressive. A must have for android. If bb10 users get a native Telegram app... hard to turn back to bbm.

If you want to receive notifications while the app isn't on active frame (headless), you should see this http://forums.crackberry.com/showthread.php?t=893927 I'm sure you will like me for this

I tried the headless Android option for Telegram prior and it was a battery hog. It's useful but the drawbacks on battery was crazy

Jup, same here. It consumed about 44% of my battery once, although I barely used it.

    Hi there,

Just last week I bought me a Q10, amazing phone, and I've installed the lastest apk I could find for Telegram.
It looks really great on the phone, identical to how it looked in my last Android phone, the only thing I'd like to have is the integration with Blackberry Hub so I don't need to have the application running in the background all the time.

I'm no developer, but is it too difficult to add the hub integration to the apk install? everything else could be left as it is and just concentrate on adding the Hub integration since the application itself runs and looks the same than it does on Android, which is perfect.

Sorry if this question is dumb, and hope to see this app running on my q10 100% soon

I understand why a lot of people who posted above in the end want telegram to fail.

This is in no way trying to offend the OP who's an excellent developer.

But if BBM does not make their apps work properly on iOS and android I do believe telegram will be the next big IM and will over take whatsapp.

Bbm isn't able to automagically scan my contacts. So: screw it. I don't want to add a hundred buddies by hand.

4 months? 4 months of what? Developer' first post was March 1st, so that would make it 1,5 month.

I am still working to port Telegram library to C++ / Qt, it is not easy, at least for me (specially cryptography), and is more difficult when almost every week a change is applied.

I will be uploading more screenshots soon and when a beta version is available, I will tell you. The app is currently in pre-alpha/alpha stage.
